As disciples of Jesus Christ open to the Holy Spirit we hereby declare it is our purpose to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ as committed servant of God. Within the scope of this purpose we shall strive:
to grow in a genuine commitment to witness to the continuing activity of God in Jesus Christ in the world amid changing situations;
to seek the mind of Christ through prayer and the Holy
Scriptures on moral, spiritual, political, economic, social, denominational and ecumenical matters;
to encourage a Christian Fellowship in which the right of private judgment, the liberty of conscience, and the freedom of worship will be accorded to all;
to respect one another in the diversity of opinions which reflect our differing traditions, backgrounds and philosophies, but celebrate together the knowledge and proclamation of the faith in Jesus Christ, his meaning and message;
to provide each other with spiritual enrichment, mutual support and encouragement in the Christian life through corporate worship, celebrations and religious leadership;
to nurture each member in loving and outgoing concern for others by seeking ways to meet the needs of the community and the world, both humanly and spiritually; and
to bear witness to the reconciling love of God and the faith we have with deeds of mercy and justice to the human family.
