🇳🇵 Pray for Nepal
Devastating floods in Nepal have claimed hundreds of lives, left many missing, and displaced families across affected communities. Global Ministries is in communication with our partner in Nepal and preparing to respond to urgent needs as aid can safely reach those affected.

Our partner shared, “At this critical moment, we would greatly appreciate your prayers for Nepal.”

Please join us in praying for those who have lost loved ones, those still missing, displaced families, rescue workers, and our partners working to bring help and hope.

🙏🏾 Dear God,

We thank You for choosing us to be in You before the creation of the world. We thank You for choosing us for adoption into Your endless grace through Your Son, Jesus Christ.

We ask for Your instruction and guidance in the way we should go. We pray that the eyes of our hearts be enlightened to see the hope to which You have called us.

We pray that You guide us to take care of your creation.
We pray that You help us to love You with all of our heart. And we pray that You help us to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Our Teacher,
Amen.

The Advocate presents a guide to major Christian churches in the U.S. that stand in support of our rights and the ones that fail to live up to Jesus's commandment to "Love thy neighbor as thyself."

🙏🏾 Holy God,

We are struggling. As we search for Your presence, we feel as though we're climbing a hill of sand. We're exhausted with our lack of progress, for no matter how hard we dig, the sand fills in.

Whenever we think things couldn't get any worse, we are shocked over and over again by the injustice and cruelty that surrounds us.

God, give us a foothold. Make sure we plant our feet on Your firm foundation. Reach down, grab our hands with Yours, forcing us to look up with confidence and hope. Let that sand fall away, and place us on top of the hill.

Let us be a beacon of hope to others. AMEN

"We are congregationalists (small c) to our core. In our ecclesiology, the world can swirl and turn all it wants but we are anchored and moored by the local church. It is our cornerstone. It is where we are formed as followers of Jesus, and participating in a local church is world-forming. We follow the lead of the early church, understanding that living the Way of Jesus is not a one-time decision but a way of life lived most completely with others.

"The local church is a living reminder that the well-being of one contributes to the well-being of all, and the struggles of one do not exist in isolation because we are One Body."

🙏🏾 On June 24th, two earthquakes struck northern Venezuela causing widespread destruction and immense loss of life. The National Ministries of the United Church of Christ are in active contact with partners in Venezuela and the surrounding region, and while communication remains slow due to collapsed infrastructure, we will continue to provide updates as we receive them. We invite you to please continue to keep all those impacted in your prayers.

God of the broken and the buried,
Hear us as we pray in sorrow and hope.
We hold before you those whose lives have been shaken,
Let your peace, comfort and love be known to
Those who search, those who wait, and those who grieve.
Let your love be a source of light amidst the chaos of uncertainty.
In your name we pray,
Amen

🙏🏾 Creator,

Today we pray for our LGBTQIA siblings who are continuously subjected to the world's judgment, persecution and hatred.

We pray that they find hope through You. That they find a faith based community that allows
them to experience Your profound love and irrefutable acceptance.

We ask You to comfort them, as they heal from past traumas and the traumatic stress they experience living as their authentic self. Thank you for Your neverending, overwhelming & unfailing love.

🙏🏾 Holy One,

We give you thanks for all we have and all we are. You created us in your image. You sent prophets, teachers, ordinary people, and Jesus Christ to show us the way. But we often fall short of your vision for us.

We choose comfort and status quo over addressing the names of those marginalized in society and the Church. Give us courage and wisdom to speak with love and grace as we work to change the things that are not of you - Great Love. Help us to transform ourselves and the world as you would want it to be.
Amen and amen.
