Take time today to pray as a family—talk and listen to God. Pray these four things:
-
1.) Thank God that He is always good, always powerful, can always be trusted, and is always with you.
2.) Ask God to help you live securely in Him.
3.) Pray for one another.
4.) Choose one or two other people to pray for—that they would know God made the way for them to always have a relationship with Him through Jesus.

This week, take 1 day to ask these 2 questions and spend 3 minutes talking about them:
-
How do you feel when people leave you? How can knowing God is always with you make a difference?

This week our Bible story comes from Ephesians 6:10-20
-
We will teach our kids that God is always with us. The disciple Paul wrote to Christians in Ephesus, encouraging them to stand strong in their faith. He compared living for Jesus like being surrounded with armor.
-
When we follow Jesus, we can turn to Him in prayer and know that He helps us follow and stay close to Him.
-
Find different times and places to pray with your kids this week—in the morning, at night, in the car, at the park. Help your kids know that God is always with them, and they can always turn to Him in prayer.

Wear your favorite teams gear this Wednesday Night! We will still have an awesome true Bible story, application, and big truth that we can live by, but we wanted to have a little extra fun!

Build a “fort” together as an opportunity to remind your kids that God can always be trusted.
-
Use blankets, chairs, and couch cushions to make a structure. Then have fun in the fort playing a game or even having a picnic.
-
Talk about what makes a strong fort and a weak fort. Then talk about how God is strong and good, and as a result, we can always trust and count on Him.

Tonight our kids will learn that God can always be trusted.
-
In our Bible story from 1 Samuel 17, God’s people, the Israelites, were living in fear of their enemies, the Philistines—especially the Philistine giant named Goliath.
-
A young shepherd named David trusted that God would give His people victory, and God did! With a sling and a few stones, David defeated Goliath.
-
Our kids will learn that we are secure in God and can trust Him in everything we face.
-
When your kids share problems this week, stop and pray before offering help and solutions. Help your kids see that they can trust God and know He is with them in all things.

Use this tool with your family this week and let us know how it helps!
-
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)
What is different in your life right now than it was a year ago? Five years ago? What do you think or hope might be different in a year or two down the road?
-
Life can feel unpredictable and full of surprises. But no matter what comes your way, you can know that God sees you, knows you, and holds you and your family in His hands. His goodness, faithfulness, love, and power are enough to carry you through all that the future holds. You are secure in Him, and you can trust Him with everything.

This week, take 1 day to ask these 2 questions and spend 3 minutes talking about them:
-
What are some problems kids your age face that can seem too big to handle? How can God help in those situations?

In our Bible story this week, our kids will learn that God is always powerful.
-
A woman named Dorcas loved Jesus and was known for helping others. When she died in Acts 9:36-43, God showed His power by working through a disciple named Peter to bring her back to life!
-
Kids can know that God is powerful enough to handle everything—including forgiving our sin and making the way for us to have a relationship with Him.
-
Challenge your kids to take 10 seconds and name things in your home that run on power. Remind your kids that God’s power is always here, always awesome, and always helps us love and follow Him.

This week, take 1 day to ask these 2 questions and spend 3 minutes talking about them:
-
What are some things that can help people, no matter who they are or where they live? What good things does God offer to all people everywhere?

Use a laundry bin and rolled-up socks for this fun and slightly competitive game.
-
Set the bin in an open space and take turns making “baskets” with the socks. When one person makes a basket, the other players must make the same basket from the same spot in the same way. Were your eyes closed, and were you standing on one foot? Everyone else needs to make the basket just like that! When you miss, you get a letter in the word good.
-
The game ends when someone spells the word. Share with your kids that, no matter what is going in our lives, we can know that God is good, and we are secure in Him.

Your Partner

We consider it a privilege to come alongside and partner with you as you raise your children. Our mission is to equip and support parents in their God designed role to raise their children "in the training and instruction of the Lord" as commanded in Ephesians 6:4. God also tells us in Deuteronomy 11:18-19 that as parents we need to take every opportunity to teach our children what it says in God’s Word. We provide many opportunities on campus to help you do just this and you can find out more on each by using the tabs on the right. Thank you for taking the time to check out FBC Kids. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you about anything happening in here, so please contact me at the church office. ~Debbie McCall, Children's Ministry Director
