It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Rev. Dr. Charles McCollum, a devoted servant of God who faithfully pastored and labored for equality and justice in our communities for over 53 years.

Rev. Dr. McCollum’s ministry touched countless lives through his leadership at Oak Grove Baptist Church and Piney Grove Baptist Church. For more than five decades, he preached the Gospel with conviction, shepherded his congregations with compassion, and served his community with unwavering dedication.

His legacy is one of steadfast faith, wisdom, humility, and love. Through his preaching, teaching, counseling, and community outreach, he strengthened families, encouraged believers, and inspired generations to walk closely with the Lord.

While our hearts are heavy with grief, we also celebrate a life well lived and a ministry well done.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23
