St. Albans held a recital for our organist Will. He began formal organ studies when he was in seventh grade. He has studied with some of Eastern North Carolina's finest organists including: Dwight Berry, Andrew Scanlon, and Allen Harris. Will is currently serving as organist at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Littleton and Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Warrenton. When he isn't practicing, Will enjoys traveling to see antique shops and play notable organs. He has played at several important venues including: Duke University Chapel, Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral(Raleigh), and the National Presbyterian Church(Washington, DC) to name a few.

Today the Church especially remembers Alban, First Martyr of Britain, c. 304. St. Alban is remembered as the British protomartyr. Tradition holds that he was beheaded in Verulamium, which is modern St. Albans, after he put on the cloak and clothing of a priest he was protecting and presented himself to soldiers in place of the priest.

"Almighty and everlasting God, who kindle the flame of your love in the heart of your holy martyr Alban: Grant unto us your servants a like faith and power of love, that we, who rejoice in his triumph, may profit by his example; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen."
