After our Good Friday service we were getting ready for Easter. Come celebrate our Savior's Resurrection with us tomorrow at 8:00 or 10:30 a.m. (Pre-Service music starts 12 minutes before that.) You will hear an inspiring message, great music, a wonderful choir and handbells, excellent and booming pipe organ music and participate in vibrant singing on some powerful and rousing hymns! You will also meet some friendly and down to earth, common sense kind of people who come there knowing we're all sinners in need of a Savior. That's the message for tomorrow and every Sunday at Ascension: Christ has paid for your sins by means of His own blood on the cross. So in the picture we were hanging something on the cross to represent the grave clothes that Jesus left behind when he came victoriously out of the tomb! Join us tomorrow or any Sunday!

Griefshare - Surviving the holidays! Handling grief is hard every day of the year but especially during the holidays. This special Workshop helps Grievers honor their loved ones, navigate social events, reevaluate traditions, and design their own plan to survive the holidays. Grieving the loss of your spouse?
The loss of a spouse is such a devastating loss that the national program of

GriefShare devotes a complete workshop geared to address this unique grief. Ascension presents this one-day, two-hour event on Saturday, September 6, 10:00 am - Noon, designed to support and guide participants through the maze of spousal loss with the help of God’s Word that promises healing and hope.

Please join us - Register online at griefshare.org/findagroup and look for our event under “Loss Of A Spouse.” This workshop is for all who are interested so please invite your friends and neighbors who are in grief from the death of their spouse.

On Saturday, June 28, Ascension hosted a great picnic lunch of fried chicken, slaw, watermelon and more followed by an hour-long outdoor concert by the John Phillip Sousa Band. It was a beautiful day in the shade of our south lawn trees and a great time was had by all. Congratulations to our Evangelism team for hosting this event and to the volunteers who hung 500 doorknocker invitations among our neighbors.
