Multigenerational Service

As our new church year begins, we gather back together for our beloved annual water communion ritual. Please bring water from a place that is meaningful to you, whether because of summer adventures, or as a constant in your life. The Columbine Youth Group will lead us through our traditional time of sharing.
This is an all-ages service; hearing our children share is one of the best parts every year!

For our youngest friends (under age 5), Nursery care is available for the duration of the service.

None of us journey through this life alone. This month at Columbine Unitarian Universalist Church, we are leaning deeply into our monthly theme: Interdependence.

In Unitarian Universalism, interdependence isn't just an abstract idea, it is a foundational truth. Long grounded in our 7th Principle "respect for the interdependent web of all existence" and anchored as one of our core UU values, interdependence reminds us that our lives, our liberation, and our well-being are inextricably bound to one another and to the Earth itself.

To practice interdependence is to embrace both our vulnerability and our collective strength. It means acknowledging that we genuinely need each other—for comfort in hard times, for shared joy, for justice work, and for spiritual growth. When we show up for one another, honor our connections, and care for our planet, we give life to the promise of community.

Throughout this month, we’ll be exploring what it means to move past the myth of total independence and lean into mutual care and connection.

Join us this Sunday as we kick off this theme in worship, reflection, and fellowship. Whether you’ve been here for years or are looking for a spiritual home for the first time, your thread is a vital part of our tapestry.

How do you feel the web of interdependence in your daily life? Share your thoughts in the comments!

In this week’s message, Dani Williams invited us into the sacred space of thresholds. Those quiet moments standard between an ending and a new beginning. As summer gives way to a new church year, we explored the spiritual gifts found in life’s in-between seasons and the unexpected peace that comes when we give ourselves permission to simply pause and be present.
As you carry this message into your week, consider this question for reflection:
Where in your life are you currently standing on a threshold, and what might shift within you if you give yourself permission to pause, look back with gratitude, and simply be in the space between?

Between every ending and every beginning is a threshold - a quiet place where we look back with gratitude, pause in the present, and wonder what comes next. As summer gives way to a new church year, join Dani Williams as we reflect on the spiritual gifts of life's in-between moments and discover what can happen when we give ourselves permission to simply be there.
During service, children will be invited to join us for our Faith Exploration program. Our program (K-5th) engages the spirit, mind, and body through games, movement, and hands-on activities. Kids start in the sanctuary with the whole congregation before heading to their classes.
