The day I met each of my 4 children 😭

When I first saw this trend posted by someone else I immediately recalled the day when I first met Jack. He was only 11 months old and I had been dating his dad for around 6 months. I wish I could go back to that day knowing everything I know now. I’ve been blessed with some of the hardest and best days of my life as Jack’s bonus mom. My relationship and gratitude for my role as a stepparent has grown with every girl added to the mix 🤰

It’s honestly impossible to compare my motherhood and step-motherhood journeys, and I’m forever grateful for God’s call to have both 🥹😭

All jokes aside, celebrating my children’s “name day” every year is so special.

Does anyone else have experience with this? We have John Bosco, Joseph, Catherine of Siena, and Our Lady of Grace! It’s proven to be providential time and time again 😂

Just incase no one told you this, mess is often a sign of a thriving childhood!

Our space gets played in more when we have a day *without* TV. I don’t allow iPads in the house.

I do believe screen time to be a tool though. I normally have a movie playing in the afternoon while the baby naps so I can quickly reset. It depends on the weather too.

*there’s obviously a difference between dirty and messy. I always try to minimize the dirt but try to “let it go” when it comes to the mess.

I also understand that I’m super privileged to have three girls around the same age to occupy each other AND live in a safe neighborhood with a front/back yard. It was totally different when our 10 year old was younger!

Seeing my best friend’s reaction to my husband saying I have too much free time. 😂

Everyone needs a friend like you, girl.

Needless to say I have a lot going on as a work-from-home/stay-at-home mom of four. And I wouldn’t have it any other way! Except having a laundry service would be niiiiiiiiice.

Thoughts and prayers for our oldest and only boy during this time 😂

But really, I think God knew what he was doing giving us so many girlies back-to-back. If anything, it healed something deep within me 😮‍💨🥹

Also, this may be controversial but I’ve made it my mission to keep them in their girlhood for as long as possible. The fact that the age of imagination, arts/crafts, dolls & barbies is expiring sooner and sooner makes me want to vomit.

I don’t show them too often here, but take my word that they’re the absolute best.

POV: That feeling when you take four children out in public solo after 4pm and nothing burns down

I’ve got to remind myself that I’ve “done harder” on a regular basis as a work from home + stay at home mom of young children.
