So many LGBTQ+ sisters, brothers, and siblings have been told that they are somehow a glitch in the creation story. This is not true. We are all perfect expressions of ultimate love. We are all magnificent waves of the brightest light.

It is a pattern that transforms us.

Slowly over time.

Choice by choice. Moment by moment.

A pattern that slowly starts to emerge within us.

A pattern that requires us to stop tracing the patterns that got us here.

“Please don’t debate me when it comes to God.

Not because I think I’ll win.

Because I know I’ll lose.

My theology crumbles under the weight of apologetics. Not because it is a fragile system of belief. But because uncertainty is fundamental to its foundation.

The God I know changes shape and substance. The God I know evolves and breathes. The God I know meets me with a new face in every life stage. The God I know cannot be captured by the shackles of reason.

God, for me, is among us and between us. In God, we live and move. Within God we are eternally embraced. God is home and love and now. In your face, God shines, and in your voice, God sings. And in our pain, God comforts.

I shouldn’t even say “The God I know,” because I don’t. Know. God, in my limited and ignorant experience is unknown and unknowable.”

Deeply honored to share that Cathedrals of Connection has been recognized by the Illumination Book Awards. It’s been named a 2026 medalist!!

This book was written for anyone who has ever felt disconnected—from faith, from community, or from something deeper within themselves.

It’s a simple invitation: To see the sacred in the space between you and the next person you encounter.

Since 2013, the Illumination Book Awards have honored exemplary Christian literature across more than 25 categories, selecting a small group of medalists in each—out of hundreds of entries from publishers annually. Entries are evaluated by a panel of educators, clergy, and publishing professionals, who assess each work for its content, creativity, and ability to meaningfully impact readers’ spiritual lives.

It is barely noticeable at first.

Then it creeps and climbs.

Then it explodes.

This feels familiar right now. Like the trellis of our lives has had something creeping and climbing for a while now. And suddenly it’s exploding.

But there are no purple blossoms of joy. There are no flowers of beauty.

I believe the scientific, taxonomic nomenclature for what I’m feeling is Creeping Apocalyptica.

And I think we’re all allergic.

Artemis II is giving us new perspectives of the moon… and of ourselves. Looking at these pictures should change us. Should change how we see each other and treat each other. Should change how we understand the faiths of the world and the longings we all share to grasp the unknown.

But looking at the backside of any rock can change your perspective if you’re open to it. Whole universes exist hidden right in front of us. Gorgeous universes. Beneath rocks and within souls.

Pick up a rock today and wonder. Let that be a prayer for perspective and love.

Standing in St. Peter’s Square… surrounded by thousands of people from all over the world… I couldn’t help but feel it:

Easter isn’t just for the certain.

It’s for the searching.
The wondering.
The doubting.
The hoping.

Beneath all the tradition and theology… there’s a story:

Life overcoming death.
Love refusing to stay buried.

And maybe it’s not just something to believe…

Maybe it’s something to live.

Easter is for you.
Wherever you are. However you believe.
