Sadly I must report that we have lost another of our long-time, stalwart Bethel family. The last of my "Larson" aunts, Ina, passed away on Thursday of this past week. Here is the link to her obituary which includes visitation and funeral service information:

It's Christmas time and I wish to extend my greetings to you for a Blessed Christmas season and a Happy New Year.

This is an informal update from your Bethel Memorial Cemetery Association. It is an email report only. If you know of someone who does not receive email please send this on to them.

I wish to thank you for your financial support this year. The contributions combined with grants received from the two electrical cooperatives in our area resulted in a positive financial addition to our fund balance. We thank you for your continued support.

It is with sadness that I report the passing of JoAnn Overgaard Larson in November. JoAnn was married to Pastor Luther Larson for 63 years. We extend our sympathies to Luther and his family.

Again, I extend to you our warmest greeting for Christmas and best wishes for the New Year. I hope to see you at Bethel Day on May 26.

An update from Chairman, Conrad Fiskness:

While it is December and like all true Minnesotan's, we are wondering "where is winter"? I for one can do without a few weeks of snow and icy roads!

This is an informal update from your Bethel Memorial Cemetery Association. It is an email report only. If you know of someone who does not receive email please convey this on to them.

Those of you who attended the 2023 Memorial Day meeting know and appreciate gathering there and meeting friends. Since that date, we have endured a very dry year again. There is one upside to the dryness. The need for mowing has been significantly reduced again this year. That will be reflected in the annual financial report. We also received grants from the two electrical cooperatives in our area. When combined with continued support from our members we had a positive financial addition to our fund balance. We thank you for your continued support.

It is with sadness that I report the passing of Donald Raun in November. Don was married to Orpha Klukken for 62 years. They served as missionaries in Chad Africa many years. Don had a genuine interest in Bethel and attended many of our meetings in recent years. We extend our sympathies to Don's family.

In May of 2022, A Todd County Deputy Sheriff advised that the bulkhead door leading to the dugout area underneath the building was in poor condition and presented a security issue. At the 2023 meeting, funds were authorized to pay for a new door. A neighbor agreed to do the construction and installation for a reasonable price and the project was completed during the summer.

Greetings to all!

This is an end of summer update to friends of the Bethel Memorial Cemetery Association. This is being sent to all on our email address list only. My apologies to any that have submitted regular mail addresses only.

For those who may not already know, long time member and friend of the Bethel Cemetery Association, Eleanor Larson, passed away August 24. Eleanor was a member of the Board of Directors and served as treasurer for several years. Her funeral will be Friday, September 1 at 11:00 am at Osakis Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Elim Lutheran Cemetery. We extend our sympathies to Eleanor's family. Blessed be her memory.

At our annual meeting in May, the membership approved the expenditure of funds to replace the bulkhead door on the east end of the building. Construction is completed and the cost is well within the membership authorization. Wood preservative and waterproofing stain and sealer will be added in the next few weeks.

We have received grants from REA and Stearns Electric for 2023 as part of their Operation Round Up. We are appreciative of their generosity.

In early summer, a tree blew down and fell over the driveway. In late June it was cut and removed from the traffic area. The wood is yet to be removed from the premises and is available to anyone who wishes to pick it up.
