Arkansas Conference of The United Methodist Church

Arkansas Conference of The United Methodist Church Working together to build vital faith communities by
following Jesus, loving people, and sharing grace. Developing principled Christian leaders;

2.

Vision of the Arkansas Conference:

Congregations and surrounding communities transformed by the Holy Spirit to demonstrate love of God and neighbor, holy living, and justice. The Mission of the Arkansas Conference:

To make disciples of Jesus Christ equipped to transform the world with excellence and passion. Our Trajectory:

Creating vital congregations that make disciples of Jesus Christ, who m

ake disciples equipped to transform lives, communities and the world. Core Measures:

• We will be enriched by our Wesleyan heritage of Scriptural holiness so that we are connected by our mission of making disciples instead of being connected by our apportionments, appointments and benefits.

• We will establish the mission field as the primary focus of our attention and resources instead of directing the majority of our attention and resources to mere maintenance of congregations and clergy.

• We will equip laity and clergy to transform individuals, communities and the world instead of trying to satisfy personal preferences of current members and ensure congregational preservation.

• We will address the unique context of each mission field instead of depending on standardized programs and structures. Four Areas of Focus:

Our four areas of focus, not just for the Arkansas Conference, but for all United Methodists are:

1. Creating new places for new people by starting congregations and renewing existing ones;

3. Engaging in ministry with the poor;

4. Stamping out killer diseases by improving health globally.

Today is Miracle Sunday, a day when United Methodists around the world join in sacrificial giving to permanently endow theological education for pastors outside the United States. Through this offering, we help prepare 500 students each year for ministry, strengthening the church for generations to come.

Thank you for being part of this global movement of faith. May God continue to shape us into people who love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously.

Love Boldly, Serve Joyfully, Lead Courageously

This morning, we celebrate boldly, giving thanks for the movement of the Holy Spirit across Africa, Europe, the Philippines, and right here in our own congregation. God is raising up leaders whose ministries are transforming lives in extraordinary ways.
As you listen to today’s testimony of Caleb Dormah, a pastor from Liberia who ministers to people who live in a graveyard, I invite you to hold this prayer in your heart: Lord, use our gifts, our prayers, and our lives to transform the world like Jesus.

Only One Week Until Miracle Sunday!

Love Boldly, Serve Joyfully, Lead Courageously

With Miracle Sunday less than a week away, have you invited a friend, your small group, your congregation, and your ministry partners to join you and 30,000 United Methodist congregations to make theological education a reality for our clergy in the Philippines, Africa and Europe? It is not too late! You can help Arkansas reach our goal of having every church in our state contribute to Miracle Sunday.

In this final week leading up to Miracle Sunday, we hear from Rev. Roy Smith as he reminds us of our connection in Christ through the United Methodist Church.

Love Boldly, Serve Joyfully, Lead Courageously

Today we turn our hearts toward the countless pastors who serve in places where resources are scarce, but faith is abundant. We will hear another powerful testimony from a leader whose ministry is transforming lives through evangelism in extraordinary circumstances. As you listen to Princes Knuckles Jalia, Liberia. I invite you to pray: Lord, how are you calling me to love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously this week?

Only Two Weeks Until Miracle Sunday!
Love Boldly, Serve Joyfully, Lead Courageously
Sunday, May 17, we will join thousands of congregations for Miracle Sunday, a day of sacrificial giving to permanently endow theological education for pastors around the world. Let us keep walking together with open hearts, trusting that God is forming us into people who love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously.

Rev. Tony Griffin shares with us how we can partner with our Bishops and other United Methodists to make theological education possible for all our pastors around the world.

Only Four More Weeks to Miracle Sunday!

As we continue this journey, I encourage you to:

▪ Stay engaged in your small group
▪ Pray for pastors and students around the world
▪ Ask God how our congregation can be part of raising up the next generation of leaders

Together, we are learning about how we can make a difference around the world through our giving. This week we hear from Rev. Todd-Paul Taulbee.
