After serving as associate pastor of New Zion Holiness Church for about 11 years, Bishop Calvin Pompey who was Elder at the time, was led by the Holy Spirit to separate and begin the work of pastoral ministry. In April of 2000, Believers Worship Center was birthed in L
ittle Rock SC, with about 8 members. Since that time the Lord has given increase and blessed the ministry exponentially. After much prayer and labor, Elder Pompey accepted the call to Bishopric in 2008. Since that time Bishop has served in that capacity with great zeal and love. God has since led him to form the Fellowship Covenant of Believers Association which consists of 3 churches. Bishop Pompey not only resides over this fellowship Covenant of Believers Association which consists of 3 churches. Bishop Pompey not only presides over the fellowship but also serves as surrogate bishop to many other ministries. God has blessed bishop with many gifts. He is an accomplished singer, songwriter and musician. He is a teacher of the word who stresses competency and reverence when handling the word of God. Bishop has earned a BA in English, a Masters in teaching, Masters in Theology and is currently pursuing his PHD in Ministry. He is married to the awesome woman of God Evang. pompey, who complements him perfectly. Truly she is a mate made for him who is suitable and qualified to walk by his side. He is the father of 6 children and 8 grandfather of children. Bishop's motto is nothing should be done without purpose and love. Truly though the vision may tarry, it will and is coming to pass in this ministry, and we believe strongly that we haven't seen anything yet. This teaching ministry believes in ministering to the whole man. Striving to fulfill the ministry of reconciliation to God through Christ Jesus our Lord.
