My heart has been stirred and burdened by God for several weeks regarding Nehemiah. We're about to start a series in Elevate Student Ministries to address the breach we are facing and become those who would be called "Repairers of the Breach" (Isaiah 58:12). My heart is burdened for Revival and an Awakening in our students, our schools, our state, our nation and the world!
There has been a breach in the modern day Christ follower! Nehemiah 1:3 "... The wall of Jerusalem is also broken down, and its gates are burned with fire."
There has been a breach in what we have allowed to become part of "modern day" Christianity. We have allowed our gates (our eyes, ears, mouth and mind) to be destroyed and or entered by the attacks of the enemy.
There has been a breach! The murdering of innocent babies has become common and those professing Christ are okay allowing abortions.
There has been a breach! We have turned church into a regulated, scripted, and fully scheduled event with no room for God and His Glory to invade and have His way.
There has been a breach! We have students who no longer know their identity in Christ and they are being told they can choose to identify however they want.
There has been a breach! We no longer find ourselves, as Christ followers, weeping, mourning, fasting, praying, and repenting.
There has been a breach! We no longer find ourselves standing firm on the Word of God, the Bible, but instead debating whether the Bible is outdated.
There has been a breach! We no longer strive for holiness, but instead cling to how close can we get to the line of sin without sinning.
There has been a breach! The serpent's words of "Did God really say that?" have grown stronger as the believer's knowledge and reading of the Word have grown weaker.
There has been a breach! Miracles, signs, wonders, the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the freedom of the Holy Spirit to move have been stifled or abolished from church buildings.
There has been a breach! The prayer closet has turned into a wishing well with cobwebs.
There has been a breach! Where are the Rebuilders?
God is looking for Zerubbabels, Ezras, and Nehemiahs to not bow to culture and say, "this is just how it is now", but to rebuild the altars, rebuild the pulpits with a backbone and the power of God, the Nehemiahs to weep for the broken and rebuild what the enemy destroyed. Where are the Rebuilders who will build back the walls of Christianity with holiness, pentecost, righteousness, prayer, fasting, weeping for the lost, evangelism, discipleship, believing and teaching the Word of God - Where are the Repairers of the Breach!
God, I repent, forgive me, please! I will be a Repairer of the Breach! I am desperate and hungry for more of you, God!
