🎓 A Record-Breaking Graduation in La Gonâve! 🎉

On July 12, 2026, the Professional Training Center of St. Francis of Assisi celebrated its largest graduating class ever, with 35 students completing vocational training in La Gonâve, Haiti!

The ceremony featured an inspiring commencement address by Headmistress Mme Nerline and showcased the incredible talents of our graduates, including beautiful gowns created by students in the sewing program.

We grieve the loss of our dear brother Noelvil Soirelus. He not only translated the language for our mission trips to Haiti, but the culture as well. He was always kind and generous and a joy to be around. Rest in peace with our Savior, dear Noelvil!

We share this news with a heavy heart; our treasured brother, Noelvil Soirelus has died during a hospitalization. For many of us, he was an integral part of understanding la Gonâve and was the bridge in helping us develop relationships. As a translator, he served long hours in our animal and human clinics, community worship services and visits to homes in the countryside. He was kind and open-hearted. He loved to laugh, bargain with vendors and enjoyed a good home cooked meal. We pray for comfort for his family in the loss of God's servant. Please share your memories and condolences.

February is Black History Month—and Haiti is essential to that story. 🇭🇹
Ayiti became the first Black republic and the only nation to win freedom through a successful slave revolt, igniting a global legacy of resistance that inspired generations from Frederick Douglass to Langston Hughes. Haiti’s fight for liberation isn’t just Haitian history—it’s global Black history. ✊🏾

The Professional Training Center of St. Francis of Assisi (PTCSFA) is a trade school that began in the 90s as a way to teach marketable skills to women who did not complete their formal education. Over the years, this program has completely transformed into a robust vocational school that teaches practical skills in order to find work or start a businesses. PTCSFA teaches women and men, many of whom are high school graduates. Programs include: culinary arts, restaurant, bar and banquet service, flower arranging, fashion, sewing, and recently, cosmetology. These wonderful programs are an opportunity to start anew, but the cost of supplies makes it difficult for students to complete the program.

La Gonâve Haiti Partners and Beatitudes Inc. partner to support the mission of the PTCSFA. We help cover the cost of supplies and support expansion with new classrooms. Beatitude's year-end fund drive has successfully raised enough money to complete the construction of the Cosmetology classroom building! We believed He would provide for His beloved in Haiti—but we are still amazed that He sent us a whole herd of blessings! We have no words that can fully express our gratitude to the host of saints who opened their “pastures” to help complete the new classroom building for the Professional Training Center of St. Francis of Assisi.
