We are SO EXCITED to welcome the new Director of Children and Families Ministry, Doug Barr! The Sunday School kids spent yesterday making signs and getting excited about Doug and his ministry. Welcome, and we can't wait to see what God does with our ministry!

The Children and Family Ministry team has adopted two families from Our House for Christmas. For the parents, we are giving gift cards to Walmart, Carters, or Target totaling $100. The four year old girl has requested clothing (3T), shoes(8c), and learning toys. The 9 month old boy has requested clothing (12-18 months) and a baby walker. We will shop together following the cookie exchange at the Hankins home on Sunday, December 10th.

Join the Children and Families Ministry team as we welcome the tradition of Los Posadas to our Advent season of waiting.

Los Posadas, Spanish for "The Inns," highlights the hardships of Mary and Joseph's journey towards Bethlehem before the birth of Jesus. Please click her to read more about the tradition and how it is celebrated: https://www.britannica.com/topic/Las-Posadas

Our church family will be "housing Mary and Joseph" along their journey. We are hoping that on the weekend Mary and Joseph spend a night or two with a family and be passed to another family throughout advent. This signup has dates for the Fridays and Sundays of the weekends of Advent for families to house Mary and Joseph. We encourage families to share snacks or a meal together after Mary and Joseph have been given a home for the night. Mary and Joseph will also have a journal for your family to reflect to use as a reflective support during the Advent season.

In conjunction with the Prayer Shawl ministry and Pastor Alisa, we created a Grief Support Kit for kids. It includes an age appropriate book, soft blanket, and a hand knit lovey from the Prayer Shawl ministry. We hope it brings comfort and our prayers and love to kids in need.

The weekend that was - serving food at Our House, packing Thanksgiving boxes for our friends at Bale Elementary and soaking up sunshine at Family Lunch. A great weekend in the life of our church and ministry! We have space for you to join us!

We had an absolutely wonderful mini fall retreat at Petit Jean Mountain last weekend! Thank you to our gracious hosts, Bracy and Terri Cross, our excellent breakfast chef, Preston McCormack, and our planning team, Maggie Kirchner and Leslie McCormack. It was a wonderful time of rest, renewal, relaxation and fun. We can’t wait until next year!

Today was Sunday Recess and we had a packed house! It was so wonderful to see our friends, both old and new, enjoy a snack and time on the playground, and learn about being a friend to all. We hope you’ll join us next Sunday at 9:50am!
