Who is Nathan Clark George? - Nathan serves as the worship pastor at Christ Covenant Church in Matthews, NC. While serving his church he also speaks on the theology of worship, writes and records music, and travels with family and friends to give concerts.
What kind of music does Nathan sing? - Musically speaking, Nathan is a bit ecletic. He writes and records acoustic, folk-rock, instrumental, and congregational music. He's been influenced by the acoustic music of the 70s (James Taylor, Leo Kotke, Simon and Garfunkel), bluegrass and country (Johnny Cash, Lyle Lovett, Alison Krauss) pop-rock and blues (Mark Knophler, Sting, Little Feat), electronic music, and classical music of all sorts. He grew up hearing and singing the harmonies of an old hymnal and listening to his parent's classical records. Mozart's Clarinet Concerto is still one of his favorite pieces.
What will be his focus for the event? - This concert will be full of songs based on the psalms, everyday life, and more! Nathan's desire is to encourage and minister to us and build up the body of Christ. He leans heavily on his writing from the Scriptures as heard on many of his recordings (Rise in the Darkness, To Live is Christ, Rise and Worship, etc…). Nathan will be joined by his son, Elliot, on upright bass, and daughter, Elsa on violin.
When is the event? - Friday, February 13 at 7pm
