God of holy ground and burning bushes, You called Moses by name and promised to be with him as You sent him into places of uncertainty, struggle and holy purpose. Call us again today.

Forgive us when fear keeps us from turning aside, or when we believe we are too ordinary, too uncertain or too unprepared to be used by You. Set our hearts ablaze with Your love without consuming us.

Give us courage to go where you send us, compassion to hear the cries of those who suffer, and faith to trust Your promise: "I will be with you."

Make us people who carry Your light into the world so that others may discover holy ground beneath your feet.

Amen.

This place for us is holy ground. A place where God meets us, calls us by name and reminds us that we are not alone.

God calls us to turn aside and pay attention, to notice the holy in ordinary places and the first of God burning in our midst. God does no promise a life without struggle but promises, "I will be with you."

So we come as we are, vulnerable, hopeful and ready to be called. Let us worship the God who burns brightly among us and leaves us unburned.

Happy September, friends! We are gearing up for our trip to Charlotte’s Eats & Sweets on Saturday, September 19. Here is the menu for lunch. They decide the morning of what pies they will have that day.

Pro tip: order your pie first. They sell QUICK!

September is here! Please make plans to join, eat, prepare and fellowship:

- Sunday School, 9 a.m. every Sunday
- Worship, 10 a.m. every Sunday
- Leadership Meeting, 6 p.m. Monday, September 14 in the Fellowship Hall
- First-ever PIE-ce on Earth at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 19 in the OFUMC parking lot then 11 a.m. at Charlotte's Eats & Sweets in Keo.
- Charge Conference at 4 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in Little Rock on Sunday, October 25.
- Arkansas Romance Authors meeting from 10 a.m. to noon on in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, November 11

- Starting at 4 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month, our friends at Western Hills UMC prepare and package meals in the Fellowship Hall for our homeless friends. They can always use some helping hands so please consider volunteering September 1 and 15th.

- From 3-5 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday of the month, our friends at White Memorial Methodist Church have a Bus Stop Snack and Literacy Program for school children in the community. They can always use donations, funders, volunteers and readers so please consider doing this in September.

Hello, friends! We are making arrangements for a ministry everyone can get behind - pie.

Please save the date for our first ever PIE-ce on Earth meeting where we visit Charlotte's Eats & Sweets in Keo, Arkansas on Saturday, September 19.

We will meet at 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the church then travel to Keo for an 11 a.m. reservation. Rides and carpool are available!

If you would like to go, please let Kelli Reep know by Sunday, September 13 so she can make reservations with Charlotte's.

We'll share menus and what pies will be available on this particular Saturday so you can make wise decisions on what pies you'll order first as well as what pies to take home.
