The Padre Pio Prayer Group OLL celebrated St. Padre Pio’s birthday and Memorial Day at the Padre Pio Shrine in Little Neck. As the morning rain subsided, the shrine revealed a haven for St. Padre Pio devotees to gather. Father Tom Machalski from Sacred Heart Parish celebrated the Mass bringing with him two relics of Padre Pio for veneration. Father Vincent Vu from our parish attended the mass to, serendipitously, find his old mentor Father Tom and was able to concelebrate. The day was truly a gift to our prayer group from St. Padre Pio as we gathered in prayer and thanksgiving as one spiritual family.
