What is The Oneness of Allah(God) in Islam?
The Oneness of Allah, known as Tawhid, is the core principle of Islam, asserting that God (Allah) is absolutely One, indivisible, unique, and the sole Creator, Sustainer, and worthy object of worship, with no partners, equals, or offspring, meaning nothing is like Him and He needs no consort. This doctrine emphasizes God's singular sovereignty, contrasting sharply with polytheism (shirk) and demanding exclusive devotion, recognizing Him as the ultimate source of all blessings, as detailed in the Quran.
Core Concepts of Tawhid:
Absolute Singularity (Wahid/Ahad):
Allah is One (Wahid) and Unique (Ahad), meaning He has no rivals, peers, or partners in His essence or attributes.
No Partners (Shirk):
Associating any creation (angels, prophets, idols) with Allah (God) in worship or divinity is the unforgivable sin of shirk (polytheism).
Creator & Sustainer:
Allah is the sole Creator, Preserver, and Nourisher of the entire universe, with no father, mother, sibling, son, or daughter.
Transcendent & Omnipresent:
While transcendent, Allah perceives and reacts to everything through His divine knowledge, remaining ever-present and self-sufficient.
Foundation of Faith:
Tawhid is the bedrock of Islam, taught by all prophets and emphasized throughout the Quran, starting with Al-Fatiha and concluding with Al-Ikhlas.
Practical Implications:
Exclusive Worship: Only Allah deserves worship, service, and obedience.
Liberation:
Recognizing God's oneness frees believers from subservience to anything or anyone else.
Universal God:
Allah is the God of all humanity, not just a select group, reinforcing equality.
In essence, the oneness of Allah means understanding and declaring Allah (God) as a singular, unique, all-powerful, and indivisible Being, the only one deserving of all devotion, a concept deeply rooted in the Quran and Prophetic teachings.
May Almighty Allah makes it easy for all of us in believing and sustaining the belief of The Oneness of Almighty Allah. Aameen
