Established in 1891, the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls are a religious community dedicated to a life of prayer, simple living and service to those in need in the spirit of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi. As Franciscans, we are committed to nonviolence as we seek to heal and serve the poor and people on the margins. Our ministries have evolved over the years. As pioneers in rural health ca
re and education, we started the first hospital and nursing home in Little Falls, along with a boarding school that served high school girls from 1927-1977. Our ministries and service to people in need spread across the United States and to other countries beginning in 1962 with a mission in Peru. Our outreach in Latin America continues today with ministries in Saltillo and San Rafael, Mexico. Today, we sponsor various ministries to promote Franciscan valuesโresponding to the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor. Integral Ecology, Franciscan Spiritual Connections, and the Associate Relationship extend the mission of the Franciscan community out into the world. Franciscan Associates

Integral Ecology is a holistic approach that emphasizes the interconnectedness of environmental, social, economic, and cultural issues. Inspired by Pope Francis's encyclical Laudato Si', this ministry focuses on environmental advocacy, sustainability and social justice. It aims to address the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor by promoting practices that respect and protect all of creation.
