Please welcome our newest vice-chair -- Kh. Claudia Zain from St. Nicholas Cathedral in Brooklyn, NY!

"This is my first year as Vice President. Although I have a very long and sorted history of positions in the various diocese organizations, this is my first role in the Diocese Ministry Team as it is right now. It has been many years and I’m looking forward to finding out where we are currently at and how we can use our organization to best serve the people, priests and parishes of our Eastern Diocese. Everything is so dynamic right now, I look forward to seeing how we can help! Glory to God for all things!"

As we kick off a new year for the Eastern Dioceses Ministry Council, we would like to introduce you to everyone who works hard to support the Council and keep it going.

First up, our fearless leader, Mary Bonnici! Mary is the EDMC Chair and attends St. John Chrysostom Church in York, PA.

"In my role as chair, I endeavour to guide our work so that it remains centered on our mission to serve Christ and the Eastern Dioceses, while supporting and uplifting all of the people that lead and serve in these ministries.

This year I'm excited to work alongside a new board as we continue ministries that build our diocesan community and serve our missions, youth, and seminarians while also thoughtfully shaping these offerings to meet the evolving needs of our dioceses."

With the enthusiastic blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Saba, the Department of Sacred Music announces the Fall 2026 semester of the Antiochian Orthodox Ecclesiastical Online Music School!

Registration is now open!

- Byzantine and Choral music education
- For new and experienced Orthodox church musicians
- A new Western notation sightreading class
- A special class for clergy about chanting hymns, petitions and gospel readings
- A special class on the Typicon, how to organize divine services
- Fall Semester: Sept. 7 through Dec. 17, 2026, with a mid-semester break
- Classes meet once a week for one hour
