Today, we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Memorial Day is more than the unofficial start of summer—it is a sacred moment of gratitude, reflection, and remembrance.

As we honor their sacrifice, may we also consider how we live in response to the freedoms they helped secure: with compassion, courage, and care for one another.

Take a moment today to remember a name, say a prayer for a military family, or extend kindness in someone’s honor.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

🔥 Pentecost | The Birthday of the Church 🔥

This Sunday, we celebrate Pentecost—the moment the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples, filling them with courage, purpose, and the ability to share God’s love with the world (Acts 2).

For Episcopalians, Pentecost is a major feast day in the Church calendar, often marked by wearing red to symbolize the fire of the Holy Spirit.

Why does it matter? Because the Church was born not to stand still—but to move in faith.

At St. Peter’s, that calling lives on through our mission to Invite. Support. Encounter.
✨ Invite others into community.
🤝 Support one another in love.
❤️ Encounter Christ in worship, service, and each other.

The same Spirit that moved then is still moving now.

Where is God inviting you to step forward this week?

Monday morning reminder from St. Peter’s 💙

A new week means new opportunities to show up with courage, kindness, and faith. Whatever this week holds—big decisions, hard conversations, joyful moments, or quiet uncertainty—you do not walk into it alone.

“Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9

At St. Peter’s, we believe courage doesn’t always look loud. Sometimes it looks like taking the next faithful step. Extending an invitation. Offering support. Choosing to encounter God in the ordinary moments of the week.

Wherever this Monday finds you, may you move forward with confidence, knowing God goes before you.

✨ Need prayer? Drop a comment or send us a message—we’d be honored to pray with you.

Good morning, St. Peter’s family, and welcome to a new week. ☀️

No matter what this week holds — busy schedules, hard conversations, joyful moments, or unexpected challenges — remember that God is already present in it. Sometimes the holiest thing we can do is simply keep showing up with open hearts, kindness for one another, and trust that even small acts of love matter deeply.

This week, may we continue to live into our call to invite, support, and encounter — making room at the table, encouraging one another, and looking for the quiet ways Christ is moving among us each day.

“Let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9

As you move into the week ahead, we invite you to pause and reflect:
👉 Where can you offer encouragement?
👉 Who might need an invitation, a prayer, or simple kindness from you this week?

Let us know how you can Invite...Support...Encounter in the week ahead!

If someone comes to mind, reach out. Sometimes one small act of love changes someone’s entire week. 💙

Wishing you a peaceful, purposeful, and grace-filled Monday ahead.

Good Morning, St. Peter’s ☀️

As we step into a new week, may we be reminded that God is already present in the moments ahead of us—guiding, strengthening, and walking beside us.

“The Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your needs…” — Book of Isaiah 58:11

Where there is uncertainty, may we lean into trust.
Where there is heaviness, may we find peace.
And where there is opportunity, may we respond with open hearts.

This week, look for the small moments—those quiet reminders of grace, connection, and purpose. They are there, often in the simplest interactions.

Let’s move forward together, continuing to invite, support, and encounter—carrying light into every space we enter.

Wishing you a week filled with peace, purpose, and a few beautiful, unexpected blessings. ✨

✨ Meet the Vestry: Harvey Thompson ✨

What brought Harvey to St. Peter’s?
After moving to Phoenix, Harvey was looking for an Episcopal church—and found a home at St. Peter’s.

What ministry has impacted Harvey most?
The Choir. A place of connection, beauty, and shared worship.

One word to describe St. Peter’s — why?
Inclusive. Harvey shares, “I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a more inviting church.”

What’s something people may not know about you?
He loves to run. While he may not run like he used to, it’s still something he truly enjoys.

How do you see us living out invite… support… encounter?
By living in community with one another—through fellowship, connection, and shared life.

At St. Peter’s…
We continue to invite all, support one another, and encounter God through the strength of our community.

On this day in 1945, U.S. military forces liberated 31,601 prisoners from the concentration camp at Dachau.

What they found was almost beyond comprehension—lives reduced to suffering, families torn apart, and the devastating reality of hatred left unchecked.

We remember this day not only to honor those who survived, but to grieve the millions who did not.

History like this asks something of us.
To pay attention.
To speak up.
To choose humanity—even when it’s hard.
✨ Invite truth, even when it is uncomfortable
✨ Support dignity and justice for every person
✨ Encounter the responsibility we carry to ensure “never again” is more than words

Remembrance is not passive. It is a commitment.

At St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Bridges Reentry Ministry is more than a program—it’s a promise.

A promise that no woman walks out of incarceration alone.
A promise that her story isn’t over.
A promise that restoration is possible.

Every time a woman returns to our community, she carries more than a past—she carries hope, fear, courage, and the desire for something new. Bridges meets her right there… with compassion, practical support, and community willing to walk alongside her.

This is what transformation looks like:
✨ Being invited back into community with dignity
✨ Being supported with real tools, relationships, and encouragement
✨ Having an encounter with grace that reminds her she is seen, valued, and not defined by where she’s been

Lives are being rebuilt. Confidence is being restored. Futures are being rewritten.

And maybe most importantly… women are being reminded that they are deeply loved.

This is the work. This is the impact. This is what it means to invite…support…encounter.
