A Statement of the Seeds of Faith Lutheran Church Council: In response to the social unrest and cries for racial justice in our nation, Seeds of Faith, in compliance with the Southeastern Iowa Synod Council and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America:
-Condemns racism, white supremacy, and all acts of injustice against Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC).
-Seeds of Faith is committed

to the love and welcome of all people. Jesus’ love was and is unconditional for the whole world and God asks us to love in this same way. Therefore, Seeds is dedicated to the long-haul process of dismantling racism and white supremacy from our lives, our communities, and our nation’s systems and institutions.

In Ezekiel, God says something remarkable: “I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that they turn from their ways and live.” Again and again, Scripture describes faith as turning. Turning away from what destroys us. Turning toward what gives life. Turning back when we've lost our way. Turning toward God—and sometimes toward one another. That's good news for anyone who thinks faith requires having everything figured out. You can turn around. You can begin again. You can choose a different direction. God's love always makes a way.

Thanks to all the Seeds folks who helped to welcome the new Cornell College students to Mount Vernon/Lisbon! Students stopped by to take a plant for their dorm room, grab a scotcheroo, and leave a word about how they're feeling. Our friends from St. John even brought Pope Leo to welcome students 😊
