The Missionaries of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, a religious congregation, founded in Secondgliano, Naples, Italy by Saint Gaetano Errico in the year 1836Today we are spread across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. Our ministries include parish ministry, ministry in schools, healthcare: dispensaries, clinics, nursing homes, hospital, social work, chaplaincy to the military and mental health therapy and counseling. In all of these ministries the goal and mission is to preach and exemplify the love of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary for all. The North American Delegation of the Missionaries of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary is headquartered in Linwood, New Jersey. The Delegate Superior of the USA delegation is Fr. Frederick Clement, MSSCC, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a former Military Chaplain to the United States Air Force. The priests and brothers engage in ministry in the dioceses of Camden, Charleston, Harrisburg, and Lexington.

Fr. Messaro, m.ss.cc. passed away early today. He was the first American to join the Missionaries, and studied in Rome. He was a priest first serving the Camden Diocese and later the Harrisburg Diocese. He served 25 years as Pastor of St. Mary's and St. Rita's.
He loved his pasta and sauce, and the church. He was active in the Charismatic movement and Cursillo.
He spent his last years in a nursing home due to his falling and unable to walk. His final months were on hospice.
A funeral will be held on March 27 at 11 am. Prior to Mass there will be a viewing from 9:30 - 11 am.
