When James talks about receiving the Word "humbly," another way to view it is receiving it with courtesy. Just like holding a door open for someone else to step ahead, receiving God’s Word with courtesy means putting His direction before our own opinions, plans, or pride. Open the door and let Him speak!

GO: The Spirit-Empowered Church on Mission 🚦✨

What if the power that launched the early church wasn’t just a story from the past, but a promise for right now?

Starting Sunday, September 6th, we are stepping into our new 12-week teaching series through the Book of Acts: GO.

Over the next 12 weeks, we won't just be studying history. We'll trace how a small group of ordinary believers were filled with the Holy Spirit and sent out to change the world—and we’ll hear real stories right from our own church family of what happens when ordinary people say yes to God’s extraordinary mission.

God isn’t calling us to sit still. He’s sending us into our homes, our neighborhoods, our city, and beyond.

It’s time to GO. Join us this Sunday as we begin!

What if the question we should be asking is not whether God speaks, but whether we are truly listening? Psalm 19 opens with a sweeping declaration that creation itself is a continuous act of divine communication -- the heavens, the skies, the rising and setting of the sun all pouring forth the speech of a God who has never gone silent. This sermon draws us into that reality and challenges us to reconsider the moments we have mistaken God's silence for absence. The truth is, God has already spoken volumes through the world he made, and he continues to speak into our lives in ways we can miss when we are looking for the wrong signs. The spiritual invitation here is to shift our posture from wondering if God will speak to actively anticipating that he already is. Like someone waiting by the phone for a call they know is coming, we are called to live in a state of expectant readiness -- eyes open, hearts tuned, and faith leaning forward.

"It is not the size of your faith. It is the One that you have faith in."

If salvation depended on the perfect strength of our belief, we would all be in trouble. Human faith naturally fluctuates, but God’s promises never do. The Israelites weren’t saved because their faith was flawless—they were saved by the blood on the doorpost. Your security isn't based on how strongly you hold onto God, but on how securely He holds onto you.

"God, I literally have nothing, but I trust You."

Real faith isn't about conjuring up enough self-will or pretending we have it all under control. Scripture never tells us that simply believing harder fixes everything on our terms—it calls us to surrender. True peace begins when we stop trying to handle it alone and humbly lay it at His feet.

The night of the first Passover, the Israelites did not need perfect faith. They needed the blood of the lamb on their doorframe. God's faithfulness did not depend on how much they believed -- it depended on what they trusted in.

This past Sunday we walked through Exodus 12 and were reminded that it is not the size of your faith that matters. It is the one you place your faith in. Whether you showed up with bold confidence or quiet doubt, the lamb's blood covered you all the same.

If you are carrying something heavy right now and your faith feels small, hear this: you do not have to muster up enough to change your situation. You just need enough to trust the one who can. He will not fail you.
