Please continue to pray for camp! Last communication with any of the 5 people on the other side of the bridge was around 4pm Friday. We understand the want and desire to help but currently the need is prayers as even those closest in Avery and Watauga county cannot reach them.

Please know that as we get communication and information we will share. The board of directors are waiting as anxiously as everyone else to hear something.

Please pray for the safety of all affected by this horrible storm but we know our God is powerful and will lead the way! Pray for all those who are assisting in the efforts to ensure everyone’s safety!

We are building a Bridge!

"Crossing the River, to the Glory of God!"

This new bridge has been a vision of both our church and of Camp Linn Haven since 2005, and in these years of waiting, planning, praying, and trusting in the Lord, we give thanks that now is the fullness of time in which our Lord is leading us to complete this project, to the glory of His holy name.

The bridge has been approved to go up! Thanks be to God!

Buckeye Bridge LLC. will start building in August and the bridge will be completed before Christmas.

We need continued fund raising to pay for the bridge however.

The Pledge Goal is $300,000 for payoff of the new bridge.

Bridge Update: Calling the Camp Linn Haven Family to Prayer!

All friends of Camp Linn Haven, for over two years, we have been united in a vision to build a new bridge into camp that will further God's mission at the camp and at Mountainside Lutheran Church. In that united vision, we have raised nearly $350,000 towards the completion of this project, which was initially estimated at around $500,000. We rejoiced last month when all the plans and permits received final approval from FEMA, but now we come to a new challenge: the construction estimate received yesterday almost doubles the cost of the bridge to over $969,000, due to increases in the costs of materials and labor.

As we receive this startling and disappointing news, we are driven to prayer. The Camp Board will ask God to show us the way, and we will keep everyone informed of the next step. The current step is this: everything is on the table after receiving this update, including additional bids, alternative construction plans, etc. If you know of options that should be explored, please contact anyone on the Board to share this information. We trust that the substantial work of securing permits and plans that has been coordinated by Tom Dale will be a solid foundation upon which to build as we move forward.

We believe that the Lord will lead us and we are confident that He has a plan for our good and for His glory! We are listening for His time and His way. Thank you for joining us in these prayers for the future of God's ministry at Camp Linn Haven and at Mountainside Lutheran Church.
