We wrap up Luke chapter 4 with some deep truths as Jesus launches His ministry. He is a devout Jew and begins laying the foundation for His ministry in His first weeks. We see Him profess to be the fulfillment of scripture, heals and excorcises demons.

He closes the chpater with a deep truth about sharing the Gospel and time.

Luke 4 moves from the "Son of GOD" genealolgy in the end of Chapter 3. Chapter 3 ends with Adam as the Son of GOD. Adam who was tempted by Satan in the perfect place of no need.

Jesus is now in the wilderness and tempted three times by Satan. We see the power of the Word as the way to respond to Satan and the world. Why? Because Satan also knows scripture AND our human sinful nature. Only the Word can save us from false teachings....

The second half of Luke 3 is incredibly powerful. We see Jesus Baptized, the revelation from Heaven that Jesus IS GOD's Son. Then we see an amazing genealolgoy that ties the beginning of Jesus's ministry. This is really amazing information.

Luke records and tells us about John’s ministry. John preaches repentance and baptism. John inspires the people to ask if he is the Christ. His response is an amazing lesson for us in the power of Christ. John, representing the Prophets of Old, points to and prepares the way for the pending Christ. Exciting times and lots of lessons for them then and us today.
