As we recognize Columbus Day, we are reminded that every journey begins with a step of faith.
Life often takes us into unfamiliar places, but as believers, we can trust that God is faithful to guide our steps.

"The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps." — Proverbs 16:9

May we continue to seek His direction, trust His promises, and follow wherever He leads.

After witnessing the glory of Jesus on the mountaintop, the disciples return to the valley, where they are met with suffering, desperation, and a need that only Christ can meet.

In this passage, we are reminded that faith is not only for the mountaintop moments of life but also for the valleys where our strength falls short. Even when human efforts fail, the power and compassion of Jesus remain sufficient.

Join us this morning at Lineville Baptist Church as Pastor Lonnie Atwood shares from Luke 9:37–43, “Faith in the Valley,” and reminds us of the greatness of God and our need to trust in Christ through every season of life.

What does the Bible say about church membership?

Each Wednesday night, we’ve been looking at the church as the Bible describes it. This week, our discussion turns to church membership.

As you prepare, consider these questions:

-Does the New Testament say anything about church membership—directly or indirectly?

-If you were part of the group that started Crooked Creek Baptist Church in 1839, what would you have required for someone to be considered a member?

Come ready to learn, think, and discuss with us!
