HEY PARENTS!!! We are hosting a day-long event of babysitting and kids' activities on Saturday, December 10th, 10 am - 3pm at our center. This is a great opportunity to do some last-minute Christmas shopping or just take a break! We will have different areas set up with games, crafts, activities, and holiday movies.

Cost is $15 per child or $30 for family. You may leave your child all day or for a few hours. Ages 12months to 12 years are welcome. Parents must sign their children in and out. Payment is due upon pick up. Cash or debit is accepted.

Proceeds will be used to cover lunch, snacks, & supplies. Any remaining money will go towards our enrolled children to do community activities/field trips during the summer.

*This event is open to public so please RSVP to the office by December 8th by calling 785-450-5400.

In today's Daily Meditations, we are inspired by Interfaith leader Eboo Patel who founded the Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC), which brings together youth of different faiths through the values of cooperation and shared service to the common good. Here he explains the mission of IFYC to a skeptical questioner who asks, “So what’s the IFYC approach?”:

“'Are you trying to teach the kids that all religions are the same?' he asked, again growing suspicious.

'Not at all,' I responded. 'We are showing young people that religions have powerful things in common, but they come to those shared values through their own paths. . . . 'The IFYC always gives young people the chance to actually act on the religious value they are talking about through a service project. It’s amazing how many faith stories of compassion kids remember when they are building a house together for a poor family, or what their insights into hospitality are when they are tutoring refugee children.'”
