Saint Peter’s Catholic Parish warmly welcomes Rev. Fr. Christopher Columbus, SAC, who will be with us on the weekend of June 13–14 for our annual Mission Appeal.
Fr. Christopher is a priest of the Society of the Catholic Apostolate, commonly known as the Pallottine Fathers. He currently serves as Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Breckenridge and Jesus of Nazareth Church in Albany. During his visit, he will speak about the missionary works of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Province in India, especially the education and formation of seminarians, support for children from economically challenged families, and mission outreach in remote areas of South India.
The Pallottine Fathers in India continue to do remarkable work in strengthening the faith of God’s people through parish ministry, pastoral care, evangelization, and charitable outreach. Your generous support will help provide formation for future priests and assist in educational and missionary programs serving the poor and marginalized.
Fr. Christopher is deeply grateful to God for his vocation and serves with the missionary zeal and spirit of St. Vincent Pallotti. Let us welcome him with prayerful support and generosity as he shares the mission and works of the Pallottine community.

Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity

The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity draws us into the very heart of God. The mystery we celebrate today is not simply a theological truth to be understood, but a divine communion of love into which we are invited. The Father eternally pours Himself out in love to the Son, the Son receives and returns that love completely, and the Holy Spirit is the living bond of that love.

For Carmelites, the Trinity is not a distant mystery. The Carmelite tradition teaches us that God dwells within the soul. In silence, prayer and loving surrender, we encounter the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit living within us. The interior life is therefore not an escape from the world, but a journey into the presence of the Triune God.

This profound reality shines beautifully in the spirituality of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus. Though she embraced a hidden life within the Carmel of Lisieux, she discovered that the deepest vocation of every Christian is participation in the love of God Himself. Reflecting on her place within the Church, she wrote: “O Jesus, my Love, at last I have found my vocation. My vocation is love! ... In the heart of the Church, my Mother, I will be LOVE.”

This insight resonates deeply with the mystery of the Trinity. Love is not merely something God does; love is who God is. To live in love, to forgive, to serve, to trust with childlike confidence, is already to participate in the life of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

In a world often marked by division and self-interest, the Trinity reminds us that true life is found in communion. Saint Thérèse teaches us that we do not need extraordinary works to reflect God’s presence. The smallest act done with great love becomes a living witness to the Trinity dwelling within us.

May this solemnity renew in us a desire for deeper prayer, greater trust and more generous love, so that our lives may become a reflection of the eternal communion we adore.

Collect

God our Father, who by sending into the world the Word of truth and the Spirit of sanctification made known to the human race your wondrous mystery, grant us, we pray, that in professing the true faith, we may acknowledge the Trinity of eternal glory and adore your Unity, powerful in majesty. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen.
