When I was young my mother took me to church and that continued through my time at home. My mother is soon to turn 89 and I am almost 70 we still attend together. After several broken hips she now uses a walker, but her most resent struggle is she has severe hearing loss. We are working to get her upgraded hearing aids and she is seeing a specialist. She struggles every Sunday to hear her Sunday school teacher and the Preacher, so much so that I don’t believe she hears much of it. A few weeks ago I decided to ask her if she would rather hold off awhile attending until she gets things worked out. Last Sunday she stayed home. This week I was talking to her and she said I think I will go this Sunday she said “ I just don’t feel right staying home from church”. So this Sunday I will pick her up and we will continue to attend church together even though she will not hear much of the service. Matthew 13:9 “ Whoever has ears let them hear” Where will you be this Sunday? Would you attend if you could not physically hear? Could the Holy Spirit talk to us anyway? Thank you Jesus for your presence no matter our circumstances.
