Burnett Ministries

Burnett Ministries Burnett Ministries goal is to provide God's children with biblical tools that will help them to find their purpose and live an abundant life. Betty A.

Burnett was born in Gibsonville, North Carolina and grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina where she also received her education. Betty's very early years of life were without her biological father, but she had a hard working mother who later remarried. Childhood and early teen life were not smooth sailing for Betty, which led her to having a strong desire to leave home when she became of age. Upon

leaving home, Betty's travels took her to the Bronx, NY; Jersey City, NJ; Camden, NJ and Philadelphia, PA. Her experiences living in various cities were exciting, but all the bright lights, fast life and other pursuits never satisfied or filled the empty void. Eventually, Greensboro became her home again. It was several years after moving back to Greensboro that she had a born again experience and her triumphs began Monday, March 15, 1982. Betty attributes God's grace and mercy for allowing her the privilege to survive and testify of His goodness to others. She could also testify that all those empty years prior to her relationship with Jesus Christ have been filled and her thirty plus years of walking with the Lord have been victorious. Betty joined several churches and often lived in situations outside of her comfort zone, but through it all, God sustained her. Betty became a member of a church in Camden; she lived in Camden two times; prior to her salvation and after she was saved. In the year of 2000, Betty received her license to minster at St. Paul Baptist Church and she became an ordained Evangelist in 2002 (she was already ordained by God). Betty is a poet, author and playwright. She loves studying the word of God and sharing it with whomever she comes in contact with. This lines up with her proclaiming (telling) what has been revealed to her by the Holy Spirit (Matthew 10:27). Betty has a love for people and her passionate desire is to see them delivered from whatever they have been in bo***ge to, which is in conjunction with her ministry theme: "Setting the Captives Free" (Isaiah 61:1). Betty is confident of her dual-fold ministry call and she wants others to know and walk in their call (purpose). Betty also encourages others to seek God pertaining to their call . She believes in building people up and is quick to tell them that with God, there are no big I's or little you's; that one person is just as important as the other, no matter what the call may be. Betty also enjoys traveling; she really loves to drive and every time a door is opened for her to hit the highways, she gets delightfully happy; for Betty knows that wherever she goes, doors of opportunity are always opened for ministry. This is all God instilled and it certainly confirms her logo: "Send Me Lord, I'll Go" (Isaiah 6:8).

Power Outage 8-11-24
On Friday, August 9th, there was a national weather advisory for several counties in New Jersey and parts of Pennsylvania. Winds were at 40 miles an hour, trees were blowing really hard, heavy rain off and on throughout the day. And then, around 5PM, certain areas lost power. The area where I live the loss of power lasted about two hours, before it was restored.
This is the point I want to bring home today. There is a vast difference between the world’s power and the Holy Spirit’s power.
There are many worldly powers, but only One Almighty Power of God. There are different kinds of powers, like power (electric) companies, but there is only one kind of Power that never goes out, and that is what some call “The Holy Ghost” Power.
Regardless of what kind of powers may be, none can supersede the Almighty power, praise God. We witnessed how various kind of power pertaining to the world will lose its power, but the power of God never goes out.
The Israelites witnessed the power when they were traveling through the wilderness. The Lord (Holy Spirit) was their pillow of fire by night. And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night (Exodus 13:21).
As children of the Most High God, we are assured that the Power of God never stops working. Praise the Lord for the ever illuminating power and presence of the Holy Spirit.
Have and awesome day giving the Lord God Almighty all the praises He deserves.

Good morning friends!
I have no planned message today, but since some people do “throw-back” photos of themselves, I’ll do the same.
My niece had these photos of me that were taken in the early and late nineteen ninety’s. “A picture is worth a thousand words”
From the internet: The phrase " a picture is worth a thousand words " doesn't mean that a picture contains a thousand words of information. It means that images are more valuable than words when explaining concepts of events. So, you wouldn't use the phrase when you're referring to the video or other media formats, only images.
With that being said, I hope you get a “Kick” out these “Throw-back” pictures down memory lane!
Blessings to you on this awesome day that the Lord has made!

A Thorough Knowledge of the Word of God 8-9-24
This is one of the word images that was sent to me. “A Thorough Knowledge of the Bible is Worth More Than a College Education”
I choose to write it like this: Remember how some were called “Educated fools” because they put more emphasis on their intellect than the Spirit of God who empowers them. When one is not yielded to the Spirit of God, they restrict His power to move in their lives; therefore, the anointing is diminished and yokes are not broken.
A thorough knowledge and understanding come through the power of the Holy Spirit when we don’t put limitations (restrictions) on Him (1 Thessalonians 5:19), by quenching and grieving (making Him sad). And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30). It is a terrible thing to grieve the Holy Spirit, the One who baptized us into the body of Christ. For by one Spirit, we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:13).
Even when it comes to ministers getting a doctorate in theology. Some of the professors are unsaved. How can an unsaved person teach the Word of God when the Bible says: But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned (2 Corinthians 2:14). They are not able to understand spiritual things.
Many born-again believers are grieving and quenching the Holy Spirit, therefore they are still carnal (operating in the flesh)- And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and [a]behaving like mere men? [unsaved men]-(1 Corinthians 3:1-3)
Note- It doesn’t matter how long a person has been and is in ministry, this is quite indicative of a person not being spiritually matured. The wrong kind of knowledge is dangerous and a lack of understanding is even more dangerous because it effects those who are being taught and it is misleading.
Many of the leaders need to yield to the Spirit of God and stop leaning to their understanding. One day all of us must stand before Christ. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad (2 Corinthians 5:10).

Heaven, Don’t Miss it for the World 8-8-24
Does that phase sound strange? It’s okay; I will explain- After seeing the phrase, I pondered in my heart how a message could be formed from it. There were four scriptures that came to mind.
What will it profit a person, or what will a person give in exchange for their soul?- When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? (Mark 8:34-37)
The rich young ruler- Now behold, one came and said to Him, Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life? So, He said to him, Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.
He said to Him, which ones? Jesus said, you shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, honor your father and your mother, and you shall love your neighbor as yourself.
The young man said to Him, all these things I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack? Jesus said to him, if you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions (Matthew 19:16-22).
Man built barns- And He said to them, take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses. Then He spoke a parable to them, saying: The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. And he thought within himself, saying, what shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?
So, he said, I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. And I will say to my soul, soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry. But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided? So is he who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God (Luke 12:16-21).
Many Disciples Turn Away
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. But there are some of you who do not believe. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were, who did not believe, and who would betray Him. And He said, therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father. From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. Then Jesus said to the twelve, Do you also want to go away?

But Simon Peter answered Him, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. Also, we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God (John 6:63-69).
Beloved, the challenge today is, will you give up whatever it takes to follow Jesus Christ? Or will you allow the things of the world to cause you to miss heaven (eternal life)? Whatever anyone gives up, there will be a return . Didn’t the Word of God say: But my God shall supply all of your riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19)?
Commissioned to carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Washed Away My Sins 8-7-24
All of my sins; past, present, and future were taken care of when Jesus Christ hung on the cross, suffered, died, and rose from the dead.
Therefore, I don’t go to heaven because of what I do or don’t do as a child of God, I go to heaven because God called me to be His before the foundation of the world. Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations (Jeremiah 1:5).
For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover, whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified (Romans 8:29-30).
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved (Ephesians 1:3-6).
Jesus Christ was the Lamb But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world but was manifest in these last times for you (1 Peter 1:19-20). And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8).
Beloved, I thank the Lord for how He knew me and ordained my ministry (calling) to serve before the foundation of the world. This is difficult to understand when we look at spiritual things from our perspective (view), that’s why it is necessary for us to trust God and not lean to our understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). Our view is not clear; it is cloudy. However, God’s view (perspective) is always clear because He is Perfect.
I do not fully understand everything about the Lord God Almighty, but I trust Him, because He is Sovereign and He never does anything wrong. His ways As for God, His way is perfect;
the Word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him (Proverbs 18:30).
For My thoughts are not your thoughts, for are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9).
Bottom line is, the more I study God’s Word, the more my spiritual eyes are enlightened, and I am forever grateful that I have eternal life, regardless if everything is not clear to me.

My Ministry Name is Servant/Handmaiden 8-6-24
After writing about servants and how Jesus calls all those who belong to Him, servants, I pondered it in my heart and that really struck a chord with me. I remembered how I closed letters with “His handmaiden”
Mind you, this was in the 1990’s before I had any idea the Lord would have me licensed (two thousand) and ordained into ministry (2002).
I will go back to using handmaiden, which means servant. Although I have a dual fold call in the five ministry offices as evangelist and prophetess, I am still a servant of the Lord and to mankind. Therefore, it does not bother me when I am called Minister B, BB, evangelist, prophetess or sister.
As a matter of fact, the apostles called each other brother and Paul told other believer to greet his fellow laborers. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building (1 Corinthians 3:9). Paul even called his fellow workers by their first name (Romans 16:3-16). Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother (1 Corinthians 3:1).
This was the only reason Paul addressed himself as an apostle of Jesus Christ. When he came to Jerusalem, he was trying to associate with the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple (Acts 9:26). How would you feel about someone who had persecuted the very church of God?
Paul’s evil acts got worse. He agreed to Stephen being stoned to death (Acts 7:58-8:1). He had also made havoc of the church, entering into every house, and dragging off men and women to be put in prison (Acts 8:3).
He acted like a mad man. Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. (Acts 9:1-2).
So, you see brothers and sisters why it was difficult for anyone to believe Paul had a transformed life, because of his actions. That’s why he said in most of his letters that he was Paul an apostle of Jesus Christ.
When Paul wrote in Romans about ministry, it meant to serve. Anyone who serves does it humbly, yet boldly and they are not ashamed to tell others who they are in Christ as Paul did. Even though all of us were messed up, like Paul we can say that it is by God’s grace. But by the grace of God, I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me (1 Corinthians 15:10).

What Name Will Jesus Use for “Well-Done?” 8-5-24
We have names given to us at birth, and many parents name their children Biblical names, which have a specific meaning. But names/titles that are used for ministry are not proper.
Jesus said this about titles- But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi;’ for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren (Matthew 23:8). In other words, titles belong to Christ alone. He sent redemption unto his people: he has commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name (Psalm 111:9).
Misuse of titles is taking God’s glory. I am the Lord, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images (Isaiah 42:8).
From the internet- the name of God is "holy"; it is his nature and appears in all his works; and in which he is glorious, and so is reverend; he is to be feared and reverenced by all his creatures, and among his saints, as he is by the angels in heaven.
Each child of God has a ministry- Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: (Roman12:7a ), not a title; whatever our ministry is, it is given for us to serve.
Qualifications of Overseers
This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the office of a bishop, he desires a good work (1 Timothy 3:1).
The Bible does name offices, not titles- example bishop, elder, overseer (names are interchangeable) are the five-fold ministry offices of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher (1 Timothy 3:, Ephesians 4:11-16) and yes they are still functional today. If the five-fold ministry is understood, accepted, and functions the way God ordained it too, the church would not be in such a chaotic state.
Why Ephesians 4:11-16 is so important.
And He [Jesus] Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,

but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

From the Internet
Name in the eternal realm – In the letters to the seven churches in Revelation, Jesus promises to give “a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.” This mysterious promise suggests that believers will receive new names that are known only to them and to God (Revelation 2:17).

Well done, good and faithful servant (Matthew 25:21, 23) is what we should desire to hear. The Word of God does not say: Well, done, my good and faithful pastor, bishop, evangelist, apostle, preacher, missionary, teacher, singer, worship leader; it says “Well done, My good and faithful servant”
I am looking forward to Jesus saying to me; “Well done, good and faithful servant,” and for my new name.

Sitting at the Feet of Jesus 8-4-24
Work mentality versus spending time with Jesus (The Word)
Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore, tell her to help me.
And Jesus answered and said to her, Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her (Luke 10:38-42).
If a change has come over you, it is necessary to sit at Jesus’ feet. This means we need to spend more time in His Word. That’s what sitting at the Feet of Jesus means. Mary spent more time with Jesus (He is the Word). Martha had a work mentality, like many other people do. For instance, the more they work (serve) on different ministries, the more they think God is pleased with them.
However, these types of folks have it turned around. Unless we spend quality time with Jesus, our witness and ministering will not be effective. How can anyone share what they don’t know? Spending quality time in the Word (at the feet of Jesus) is essential; not only will we be more intimate with the Lord, but we will be more effective in our ministry. On top of that, it is a command from the Lord- Study to shew yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).
The more time we spend with Jesus, the more we learn to trust and lean on Him.

Greetings friends.

I want to share briefly how my life has changed, just as the Word of God says.
If anyone is in Christ, he or she is a new creature, old things are
passed away; behold all things are new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Things that I used to do; I choose not to do them anymore. Places
that I went before I was saved, are not where I desire to go
anymore.
That filthy language that used t come from my lips definitely are distasteful to me.
Although I am tempted to certain things, and sometimes fall into temptation, there are other things I don't desire to do,
That bad language that came from my lips, are done and away with, even though there is a slip of the tongue sometimes
