Our family of the month is Ms. Grace Talley. This beautiful lady is always smiling.

Grace Talley, wife of the late Elmer Talley, has been a faithful servant and worshiper at the Linden Church of God. Grace and Elmer were married for 30+ years, building their lives together on live, commitment, and faith. Sister Grace recalls a special beginning at the Linden Church of God. She and Elmer attended on the first Sunday of the year, where Pastor Rick shared words of encouragement: "If you stay with me for 2 months, you will never leave me." They did just that and those words proved true. After Brother Elemer went home to be with the Lord in 2020, Sister Grace has continued to attend faithfully remaining steadfast. Through marriage, they shared four children with 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Sister Grace's heart is full of gratitude for her church family. She said "Pastor Rick and his family makes me feeled loved. I could always feel the prayers of my church family."

In July we had Pastor Appreciation for Pastor Rick and our First Lady Sis. Pam. This year celebrated 37 years of pastoring and 49-50 years of faithful service to the Linden Church of God! I didn’t get to post pictures and wanted to make sure to share some from this day as honor is definitely due to them! Our credentialed ministers each shared a message on 1 word to describe Pastor and they all did a wonderful job!

Our August family of the month is Ms. Linda McKnight! She is a grandmother to all and we love her dearly!

Linda McKnight was born Linda Mills before marrying Amos McKnight on April 23.
She and Amos shared 57 years of marriage together before his passing in late 2011. They raised 8 children and have 17 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren.
Linda McKnight has been a member of the Linden Church of God for the last 25 years, joining in September 2001. Every Sunday she attends church with five generations of her family attending with her. Sister Linda inherited the role of prayer cloth maker from Sister Faye serving the church keeping the prayer cloth box stocked.
She loves to paint, especially oil painting. Along with cooking, reading, sewing, and of course, Elvis Presley. Sister Linda has built a legacy 74 years strong.

Our July family of the month! We love this family and they hold a special place in our heart.

From Generation to Generation
Brother and Sister Karen and Eric Yarbro are the son and daughter of the late and beloved Sister Velton, a cherished member of the Linden Church of God. Sister Velton begin attending the church at the uptown locaton when she was invited by a friend at Food Giant known then as Hickerson's Grocery. Her life and legacy continue to live on through her family and the many lives she touched.
Sister Velton is fondly remembered for her beautiful voice as she lifted up songs from the red back hymnal and for her loving service in the church kitchen, where she helped prepare meals and feed others with a servant’s heart.
Karen has one daughter Courtney, who was raised as part of the church family. Courtney now has 3 children. Karen works at FRX in Lexington and lives in Linden. Eric works at NYX in Linden and enjoys attending church and sharing a birthday with Pastor Rick.
The faith, love, and dedication Sister Velton shared continue to be a blessing to those who knew her. Through Karen (pictured right) and Eric (pictured left), and Sister Velton's great-grandson Travis Cheairs (pictured middle), her memory and the example she set remain a treasured part of the Linden Church of God family carried on from generation to generation.
