Sunday, May 10th, the 6th Sunday of Easter and Mother’s Day. Rev Liz’s sermon renamed it “Mothering Day” to be more inclusive for all who mother. Red carnations were given out to all women who entered and can be seen as members exited down the aisle after the service carrying their carnation! Following the service a lovely brunch was prepared by the Jenny and Tommy Smith and Tina and others.

Preparation for special services like Easter takes hours with our volunteers and a couple days of work for Easter loading lilies to the church which were delivered early to the Parish House and placing the lilies in appropriate places around the chancel and meeting the florist to help hang the multiple wall baskets and place the flowers on the high altar. The brief segment here captured Altar Guild members checking the blooming lilies and polishing the Altar brass candles and Altar Cross to dress both altars. So much work goes on behind the scenes to ready the church for special services as these photos are only a fragment of the work and Altar Guild members working the Saturday before Easter.
