Update on our beloved BB!! ❣️❣️

BB is THRIVING. He LOVES taking his Vetmedin (meat flavored) and tolerates the lasix. This week, we got a second tunnel to accommodate his large size and he is thrilled!! He enjoys walking through the tunnel, playing with Happy and even wags his little tail!! He is also enjoy his “ring toy” and will run off and hide it/play tug of war. It is purple, glitter and blue and BB always carry’s it by the blue ring- an interesting fact we discovered is ferrets see the colors red and blue most vibrantly. His appetite is great, and you’d have no clue of his diagnosis if you didn’t know. ❤️❤️

BB is scheduled for his repeat echocardiogram very soon, so we need to raise the remaining $275 ASAP to keep him
on this good path. All additional donations will go towards his medications and other veterinary care expenses. We are so grateful to you all and the Lord for many answered prayers. Link below to support Buddy, every little bit helps!!

The Stern Lab is looking for cats without previously diagnosed cardiovascular disease to join a heart health study. Participating cats will receive a FREE advanced cardiac evaluation valued at over $1,000, including a heart ultrasound, complete blood work , blood pressure measurement and blood tests for markers of heart disease (NT-proBNP).

Approximately 1 in 7 cats develop hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), and your cat's participation will help us advance our research into its causes and treatments!

This feline study will gauge whether treatment with an investigational product can delay the progression of cardiac disease, reduce the occurrence of cardiac-related morbidity and extend the time to cardiac-related mortality in cats with congestive heart failure.

This is a double-blind, placebo-controlled study of a once-daily oral liquid investigational medication administered by the cat owner, with the goal of achieving approval by FDA.

ALL cats in the study receive Standard of Care based on ACVIM guidelines during the full duration of their study participation, which may help reduce the likelihood of certain disease complications, and all study requirements are provided free to owners, including cardiac and respiratory exams; diagnostic tests, including echocardiogram, electrocardiogram, thoracic radiography and systolic blood pressure; bloodwork, including hematology, biochemistry, total thyroxine, fructosamine, NT-proBNP; and urinalysis.
