Is America’s heart in the right place? ❤️‍🔥

Welcome back to Mondays with Megan! We’re approaching the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, and the U.S. Bishops are inviting us into a historic moment of grace.

👉 On June 11th, 2026, our entire nation will be consecrated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus!

This is a powerful national act of trust and a call to re-center American life on truth, justice, and charity.

Here are your challenges to participate:

🙏 Pray the Sacred Heart Novena: June 3–11 leading up to the consecration.

🏡 Home Enthronement: Welcome an image of the Sacred Heart into your home as a sign of Christ’s reign over your family.

🕊️ Bring it to the Public Square: spend 10 minutes this week praying for our government and community leaders.

Today is a Holy Day of obligation in Nebraska!

The Feast of the Ascension is a beautiful reminder that our true home is in Heaven. It’s a day to pause, pray, and celebrate as a church family. See you in the Eucharist!🙏🕊️

Does your job own your dignity? 💼🧐

Welcome back to Mondays with Megan! Today we’re breaking down the dignity of work. In a “hustle-first” culture, it’s easy to feel like a nonstop machine. But the Church reminds us that work is a participation in God’s creation, and that the worker always comes before the profit.

At the NCC, we advocate for policies that protect the Nebraska worker, ensuring that families can thrive, not just survive.

This week’s challenge:
👉 Thank God for the gift of work.
👉 Pray for the unemployed or underemployed.
👉 Reflect on your calling and where God has placed you (or where you desire to be placed!).
👉 Pray about any boundaries God may inviting you to set when it comes to work.

On May 28th at 7 PM, the Nebraska Catholic Conference invites you to "What Binds Marriage Forever." This event is a panel discussion at St. Teresa Catholic Church - Lincoln, NE exploring the theological, political, and cultural dimensions of marriage through the lens of the book by Ida Friederike Görres.

Görres (1901-1971) rose to prominence through her writings on saints and the Church, as well as her keen discernment of the zeitgeist. Father Joseph Ratzinger (later Pope Benedict XVI) delivered the eulogy at her funeral in Germany in 1971.

Dr. Jennifer Bryson, Lincoln author and scholar, will be joined by Msgr. Thomas Fucinaro, Rector of the Cathedral of the Risen Christ, alongside Tom Venzor and Marion Miner of the Nebraska Catholic Conference for what promises to be a rich and honest conversation about why marriage matters — and what keeps it together.

We hope you can join us for this insightful evening!

Every month, the Pope gives us a specific intention to pray and act upon. For May, he is calling us to ensure that no one goes without access to food. 🥪

Following the wisdom of Pope Francis’s Laudato Si’, we’re looking at how we can move from a “throwaway culture” to one of deep stewardship.

Here are 3 challenges for May:
📦 Donate to (or shop at!) your local thrift store.
🤝 Connect with a food pantry.
🥘 Cook a meal with intentional hospitality.

Which one are you doing first!? Let us know in the comments! 👇

Just one week ago, we were celebrating the annual Bishops’ Pro-Life Mass and placing the respect of the unborn in God’s hands at the altar, just moments before the annual Nebraska Walk for Life.

Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate and stand for LIFE! ❤️
