Honoring Bob Kay
The Town of Lincoln is honored to recognize the dedication, leadership, and lasting legacy of Robert “Bob” Kay through the placement of a memorial bench in his memory.
Bob Kay devoted his life to service — to his country, his community, and most importantly, his family. A proud United States Air Force veteran, Bob served honorably overseas before returning home to begin a lifetime of civic involvement and public service.
Known throughout Lincoln as “Bobby Kay,” he served the community in numerous leadership roles, including the Lincoln Budget Board, Lincoln Water Commission, and six years on the Lincoln Town Council, where he concluded his service as Council President. He was also a former Chairman of the Lincoln Town Republican Committee and remained deeply passionate about civic engagement throughout his life.
Bob’s commitment extended far beyond government. He was a past president of both the Pawtucket and Rhode Island Jaycees, a charter member and past president of the Cumberland-Lincoln Rotary Club, Commander of American Legion Post 33, and an active member of Christ Church in Lonsdale.
Most of all, Bob cherished his family. Married to his beloved wife Jean for 62 years, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose love and guidance touched generations.
This memorial bench in Gateway Park will stand as a tribute to a man who spent his life saying “yes” when his community needed him. The Town of Lincoln proudly remembers and honors Robert “Bob” Kay for his extraordinary life of service, friendship, and dedication.
