Wallace Frank Dahmm, 93, passed away February 27, 2025 at his home in rural Lincoln. He was born on October 12, 1931 in Logan County, Illinois, the son of Harry Dahmm and Viola (Sahs) Dahmm.
Services for Wallace will be held at 11:00 am Friday, March 7, 2025 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln, Illinois. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30-11:00 am. Burial at New Union Cemetery in Lincoln will follow the service. Memorial donations may be made in Wallace’s name to Habitat for Humanity of Logan County or United Cerebral Palsy.
Wallace married Wilma Martin on June 12, 1956 in New Holland, Illinois. With his brother George, he owned and operated Dahmm Brothers Construction for over thirty years. Wallace lived his faith and used his talents by assisting in the building or remodeling of multiple churches, including Immanuel Lutheran Church, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Lincoln Bible Church, and other churches in Texas, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Illinois. He also was active with Habitat for Humanity, Together for Lincoln, and the Hawes Elevator Museum. In addition, he was co-leader of the Handy Andys 4-H club for over twelve years. Wallace was a regular blood donor, donating over nine gallons. He brightened his corner of the world by planting daffodil bulbs every fall since 1984.
Wallace is survived by his wife of 68 years, Wilma Dahmm. He is also survived by his children Rachel Miller (Roger) of Boody, Illinois; Rebekah Rhode (Robert) of Mahomet, Illinois; and Matthew Dahmm (Tory) of Bloomington, Illinois; and daughter-in-law Cynthia Murray of Springfield, Pennsylvania. He has ten grandchildren, Ryan Miller (Alex Wagner); Benjamin Miller (Heather Eaton); Hayden Dahmm (Stella Sun); Ethan Dahmm; David Rhode (Selina Cudia); Elizabeth Rhode (Nick Tandle); Andrew Rhode (Hannah Howard); Lucas Dahmm; Joshua Dahmm; and James Dahmm. Wallace also has three great-grandchildren, Jameson Miller, Marian Miller, and Quinn Miller. Preceding him in death are his son Martin Dahmm; parents Harry and Viola Dahmm; brother George Dahmm; and sister Harriet Hopp.
Wallace lived his life serving others. He was a good man and a faithful follower of Christ.
