We have both exciting and bittersweet news to share.

Our very own Rev. Jay Stewart has been appointed to serve as senior pastor at Neighbors UMC in Lincoln beginning July 1. While we will deeply miss his leadership at St. Mark’s, we are so proud of him and grateful for the ways he has shaped and strengthened our Youth Ministry.

Providentially, this weekend is Youth Ministry Weekend—and Pastor Jay is preaching at all services! There couldn't be a more meaningful time to celebrate the impact he has made in the lives of our students and our church family.

Join us tonight at 5 p.m. in the chapel, or Sunday morning at 9 or 10:30 in the sanctuary or online as we worship, give thanks, and celebrate what God is doing—both here at St. Mark’s and in Jay's next chapter.

Former Nebraska coach and TeamMates co-founder Tom Osborne will be our guest speaker this Sunday as we celebrate TeamMates Mentoring, an organization he and his wife, Nancy, helped start. Tom will reflect on the mission of TeamMates and the importance of stepping into lives of encouragement and guidance. He will also share the story of Brook Berringer, exploring how he faced disappointment with faith and chose a path of humble service. Through these stories, Tom will remind us that each of us is gifted for ministry in our own way, and that servant leadership begins with a willing heart.

This weekend, we will also highlight TeamMates as our special mission focus, with opportunities to learn more about mentoring and supporting this life-changing program.

Services on Sunday are at 9:00 & 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary and online.

The church will be closed on Friday, Jan. 23 due to inclement weather. All activities and events are canceled.

As we close the series, we’ll focus on John Wesley’s third rule: Stay in love with God. We’ll explore practical ways to cultivate a deepening relationship with God throughout the year, reflecting on Jesus’ call to “abide” and the spiritual practices of the early church. This message invites us to remain rooted, connected, and growing in faith—long after January ends.

Services are today at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel and on Sunday at 9:00 & 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary and online.

This weekend, we continue with John Wesley’s invitation to do good. We’ll be reminded that we do not do good to earn God’s love—but as a joyful response to the love God freely gives. As we observe Baptism of Our Lord Sunday, we’ll reflect on our own baptism as a grounding source of strength, calling us to live out our faith through acts of compassion, generosity, and service in the world.

Services are today at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel and on Sunday at 9:00 & 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary and online.

Worship this Weekend
Sunday | 9:00 & 10:30 a.m. | Sanctuary & Online
& Saturday | 5:00 p.m. | Bliss

As we begin both this series and our journey into 2026, we’ll explore John Wesley’s first rule: Do no harm. Together, we’ll reflect on the ways harm can occur—sometimes unintentionally—to ourselves, to others, and to creation. This message invites us to set intentions for the New Year that reflect Christ’s love and call to live differently. We’ll also celebrate Communion and explore the connection between Christ’s open table and the invitation to do no harm. See you in church!
