Our new Council Executive is a former member of Troop 30 where he earned his Eagle Scout award. Welcome back to Lincoln, JJ!

I am pleased to announce the selection of Jeff Johnson as Scout Executive of the Cornhusker Council headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska effective November 1, 2024.

Jeff has been the lead recruiter for Kastellum Group, a small defense contractor based in Tampa, FL. He was a career Naval Officer for over 25 years, serving at U.S. Central Command, Fifth Fleet/U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, and various tactical units. Jeff is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the Naval Postgraduate School, and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.

Jeff was born in Crete, Nebraska and raised in Lincoln. He has a long Scouting career in the Cornhusker Council, the Greater San Diego Council, Trans-Atlantic Council, and the Tampa Bay Area Council, where he most recently served as a commissioner. He is an Eagle Scout from Troop 30 in Lincoln and a Vigil Honor member and former Lodge Chief of the Golden Sun Lodge. Jeff was on Camp Staff at Camp Cornhusker in the 1980s-early 90s and, after retiring from the U.S. Navy, returned to Camp Cornhusker the past few summers as the COPE Director.

Jeff's wife, Tara, was a teacher for a number of years and currently works for the Department of Veteran Affairs. They have two adult children, Rebecca and Patrick, and two grandchildren.

Please join me in congratulating Jeff Johnson as he joins in partnership with the volunteers and staff of the Cornhusker Council to deliver Scouting to the youth of Southeastern Nebraska.

Thank you,
Jim Smith
President Cornhusker Council, Scouting America
