St Rose and St. John of Lima

St Rose and St. John of Lima St. Rose of Lima and St. John the Evangelist are twinned parishes in Lima, Ohio. The Very Reverend David M. Ross is the paster for both parishes..

Rose is the oldest parish in Lima, Ohio, founded in 1856. It serves 587 families and 1218 parishioners. Rose also has a school with 120 students K thru 8th grade.St. John was established in 1901, and serves 377 families and 754 parishioners.Its school closed in 1973.The parishes were twinned in 2002 under Father Christopher Vasko.

Last Sunday was First Communion Day for the second graders. There were 2 at St. John, and 9 at St. Rose. Let's keep these little ones in our prayers, that they may always find comfort and shelter in the arms of the Good Shepherd.

Tonight is the last night of our parish mission, 7PM at St. Rose. If you haven't made it out yet, it's not too late. Father Andy is an excellent speaker, and has kept everyone's attention. It's a little chilly out, but the church is warm.

Countdown to Easter Vigil. Hard to believe that another year of RCIA is coming to the end of the formal sessions. Keep the elect of God in your prayers as they prepare for their formal entrance into the Catholic church.

Just a little over two weeks till Easter. Community Penance service is scheduled at 3PM on Palm Sunday at St. Rose. Easter Vigil will be at St. Rose this year, with 5 people to be baptized and 3 people received into the Church by profession of Faith. Keep them in your prayers as you prepare for this holiest of seasons.

St. Rose/St. John will be sponsoring a mission during the Easter season. It will be April 20 thru April 22 at St. Rose beginning at 7PM each evening. Father Andy will be speaking at the weekend Masses, also. Mark your calendars for an outstanding event!
