Sometimes we know something isn't quite right. But instead of dealing with it, we tell ourselves: It's not that big of a deal. I can handle it. We get pretty good at explaining things away.

This week we continue our series, Remain in Him: Moving Past What Holds Us Back, with a message from 1 John 1:5–10.
Sin does not just make us guilty. It makes us hide. We hide it, excuse it, minimize it, or make peace with it. But what we hide cannot heal.
In this message, we’ll look at John’s reminder that God is light, and that Jesus does not bring us into the light to shame us. He brings us into the light to forgive, cleanse, and restore us.
The invitation is simple but deeply personal:
What are you hiding that Jesus wants to heal?

Join us as we learn to stop managing appearances, come honestly before God, and receive the cleansing grace of Jesus.

🤲Name one thing. Then loosen your grip.
Maybe this week you've noticed something good has been taking up more space than it should. That doesn't automatically mean you need to quit it. You may just need to hold it differently. Give it less attention. Make room for God.
So here's the question to take with you: What good thing might Jesus be asking you to hold differently? You don't have to answer it perfectly. Just be honest about it.

We often say 'Jesus take the wheel,' but are we truly letting go? Holding things with an open hand means our hands are completely off the wheel, trusting the one driving enough to release the steering. It's about who's really in control.

🌿What might you be too busy to notice right now?
There's a story about two sisters named Mary and Martha. Jesus comes to their home. Martha gets busy serving and getting everything ready. Mary sits with Jesus and listens. Martha isn't doing something bad, but Jesus points out that Mary has chosen something better.
Sometimes we aren't distracted by things we shouldn't be doing. We're distracted by good things.
👉Small action: Stop for 5 minutes. Sit quietly. Take a breath. Pay attention to God.
