There are moments when we must pause to recognize and address the greater issues affecting our communities and the Body of Christ.

While we understand that our greatest mission is to GO, MAKE, BAPTIZE, and TEACH, and that we are called to come together as one body for the purposes of transformation, spiritual growth, and service, we must also open our eyes to the concerns that impact the well-being of the very people and communities we are called to reach and teach.

With that understanding, members of the Rockingham District used our 5th Sunday Fellowship as an opportunity to become informed, engage in meaningful dialogue, and learn more about the proposed data centers coming to the Richmond County area.

A sincere thank you to Pastor G. Rebecca Warren for sharing your knowledge and insight, and to Presiding Elder Rev. Dr. Haven O. Anderson for recognizing the importance of creating this opportunity to inform and empower the members of the Rockingham District.

We also extend a special thank you to Attorney Jasmine Washington, Staff Attorney with the Southern Environmental Law Center, for providing valuable information and helping us better understand the issues surrounding these developments.

The discussion was extremely informative, and we left not only with greater knowledge, but also motivated to become more informed, engaged, and involved in the process.

Faith calls us to serve, and service also requires us to be informed about the issues affecting the communities God has entrusted to our care.

Today, the faculty and students of the West Central North Carolina Conference began their first day of Conference Studies on the campus of Hood Theological Seminary in Salisbury, North Carolina.

It was truly a blessing to gather together as we opened our time with songs, Scripture, and special prayer requests. The first day of classes was both engaging and enriching, providing an opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with one another.

Our introductory sessions allowed faculty and students to become better acquainted, share experiences, and begin building meaningful relationships that will strengthen our journey together.

We are grateful for a wonderful first day and look forward to all that God has in store as we continue to study, fellowship, and prepare ourselves for greater service in ministry.
