Sunday Services:
9:15 AM & 11:15 AM At Calvary Chapel you will find a warm and casual atmosphere where the emphasis will be on worshiping Jesus. At each service our desire is to help you grow in your Christian walk by teaching the Word of God verse by verse, chapter by chapter. Our music is fresh and relevant and

our hope is that you will find it easy to join in and worship. We have two identical services on Sunday mornings, one at 9:15AM, and one at 11:15AM. Children’s Ministry is provided during each service for infants through 5th Grade. We also have a class for Middle School students that meets during our 11:15AM service.

The Best Deterrent to Sin.

Notice, David is guilty of lust, deceit, greed, pride, and murder, but the sin God addresses first is ingratitude. Behind all sin is a spirit of thanklessness.

God is so good to us! We thank Him by our obedience. To disobey God is nothing but sheer ingratitude.

This is why the best deterrent to sin is a heart overflowing with thanks. The more grateful you are to God, the more you’ll want to live a life pleasing to Him.

The tendency among humans is to look for patterns, formulas, and blueprints - a template we can lay over a situation, and know exactly what steps to take to solve our problem.

And Christians are particularly prone to this thinking. We like the six steps, or the three keys. Even pastors do this; they study a growing church, assuming they can learn the secret formula.

But there is no secret formula! David was given two different strategies for the same circumstances. Rather than lead by a formula, God told David to wait on the wind.

David was to circle behind the enemy and wait for the sound of marching in the treetops, or literally, the wind rustling the branches of the mulberry trees. The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind.

And of course, the wind is a biblical symbol of the Holy Spirit. To walk in victory and win battles for Jesus, don’t look for a program, or plan, or pattern - follow a person.

God doesn’t come in a formula, or pill, or package. God isn’t condensed to a can - and He sure doesn’t come in a box. God is Spirit, and following His Spirit is like listening to the wind. No one controls the wind. We adjust, we bend, we adapt to Him - not vice versa.
