Today, we had a wonderful joined service with our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ at Atlanta Mekane Yesus Church. It was such a blessing to witness all the people of God coming together as one under His Word.

I hope you were as blessed as we were this Sunday.

📖 Adult Bible Study – Today at 9:30 AM!

Join us in the Fellowship Hall as we begin our study of the Book of Proverbs, starting with chapter 1: a call to wisdom, a warning against temptation, and the reminder that “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge” (Proverbs 1:7).

This timeless book teaches us how to walk wisely in a world full of distractions—seeking God’s truth above all. Whether you’re new to the Bible or a seasoned reader, there’s something here for everyone.

🕯️ Let’s pursue wisdom together!

A Joyful Sunday at Oak Road

Today we had much to celebrate—Father’s Day and Trinity Sunday! We give thanks for the fathers and father figures in our lives, and we rejoiced in the deep love of our Heavenly Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Trinity Sunday invites us to join believers across the globe in worshiping our one true God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It’s a time to marvel at the beauty of the Trinity: three distinct persons, yet perfectly united in essence. While the fullness of this mystery goes beyond human understanding, we trust in it through the faithful witness of Scripture. Today reminds us that God is not only sovereign and holy, but also near and personal—our Creator, our Savior, and our ever-present Helper.

We were especially blessed to welcome Pastor George Murdaugh as a visiting pastor this morning! Pastor Murdaugh faithfully shepherded our congregation for many years, and it was a true joy to have him back with us in worship.

The children enjoyed a special message from Pastor Tich, and the LWML hosted a delicious Father’s Day Bake Sale filled with sweet treats and sweeter fellowship. 💙🍪

Our adult Bible study concluded The Importance of Biblical Literacy study. Join them next week in the Fellowship Hall at 9:30 to begin their next study.

🔥 Pentecost Sunday at Oak Road Lutheran Church🔥
Today we celebrated the gift of the Holy Spirit—our divine Personal Trainer—guiding us toward growth in faith, strength in spirit, and a deeper walk with the Lord. 🙏 Through Scripture, prayer, and daily transformation, the Spirit equips us to run the race of faith with power and purpose. 🕊️

During our adult study, A Call to Biblical Literacy, we explored how staying rooted in God’s Word brings life, wisdom, and direction. Together, we reflected on the blessings of Scripture and shared ways we can lovingly hold one another accountable in daily reading and study. May we continue to encourage each other to be people of the Word. 📖✝️

“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.” Isaiah 40:8

This past Sunday, Oak Road Lutheran Church hosted Scout Sunday and a Blood Drive. A HUGE thank you to Kelly and Michelle for leading the Blood Drive, and to all the volunteers who helped with setup and teardown in the Fellowship Hall! 🙌

While we didn't meet our goal of 29 units, we were able to collect 18 units, including 8 from first-time donors! 🩸 Every single donation makes a difference, and we are incredibly grateful for the support from all who participated. 💖

Let’s keep making an impact together! 🌍

Our ORLC Kids' Art Club leaders had a nice Sabbath time in the fall for reflection, rest, and prayer.

The theme for this semester is “Stories Through Art,” inspired by the quote, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you” (Maya Angelou). Guided by Psalm 78, the club will reflect on how God, as the ultimate storyteller, is always present in our lives. The teachers will encourage students to share their stories through art—magnifying God’s power, glory, goodness, and grace!

Today, Ms. Krystin taught the art lesson with the assistance of other leaders. The club opened with our “Joy” song, had a devotion and art time, then a break with a story and snack time, followed by more art and a closing clean up.

Members from Oak Road Lutheran Church had the privilege of serving a warm meal to 16 homeless men in Atlanta, gathering with Pastor Joseph Song of Stepping Stone Mission. Together, we shared food, conversation, and the love of Christ. Moments like these remind us of the power of fellowship and compassion. Thank you to everyone who helped make it possible!
