The theme for this month is Flourishing Together and our speaker for this Sunday will be Sylvia Carlson, an honorably retired minister member of Redstone Presbytery. She is one of the founding members of the Westmoreland LGBTQ Interfaith Network and of PFLAG Greensburg. She also is a member of the executive committee of the Greensburg-Jeannette Branch of the NAACP. Join us as she delivers her message, "Flourishing Together: My Story of Becoming an LGBTQ+ Ally."

Normally I would not post something like this, but considering it directly affects UU, I think it's something everyone needs to be aware of. One of the religious traditions being "axed" is Unitarian Universalism. - Rebecca

Hello folks. As you know, June is Pride month. There will be a rally at the Court House in Greensburg on June 13 by Q***r Westmoreland. Also for Pride month, PFLAG Greensburg and the Westmoreland LGBTQ Interfaith Network in partnership with the Westmoreland Museum of American Art and the Westmoreland Cultural Trust will have our Pride Prom on June 27, at the Museum as we have for a number of years. Then on June 19, the Greensburg-Jeannette NAACP will have our Third Annual JUneteenth/Black-Owned Business Fair at the Historic Fairview Park off Route 22 Delmont. The service this week is an intergenerational one but child care will be available if needed.

Sunday May 31- Flower Communion at 10:30 am

This Sunday we will have a Unitarian Universalist Flower Communion, a cherished ritual celebrating community and diversity, that was created by Norbert Capek (1870-1942), who founded the Unitarian Church in Czechoslovakia. It will be led by Sarah Zelazny. We ask attendees to bring a flower to share while they leave with a different blossom. We will have extra flowers available for those who need one to share. Please join us for this unifying, humanity-affirming ritual.

Although these folks were not in the military, they gave their lives for this country as well during the Civil Rights Movement era. Let's remember their sacrifice as well: Viola Liuzzo, Unitarian.
Rev. James Reeb, Unitarian Minister. Also Unitarian Minister Rev. Clark Olsen, who was attacked.

There will be a double session of the Primary OWL class on Sunday to finish the curriculum with a parent session and party afterwards. Child care will be available for other children.

The theme for May is Awakening Curiosity. Our speaker for this Sunday is our long-time friend, Dr. David Von Schlichten. David is the Dean of the School of Humanities, Professor of Religious Studies, and Coordinator of the Gender and Women’s Studies Program at Seton Hill University. He is also a writer of popular fiction. Join us this Sunday to hear his message, "Curiosity About Calling."
