WOMEN'S EMMAUS RETREAT
When was the last time you had time for you and Jesus Wouldn’t it be great to find some peace to reflect on your spiritual life? Wouldn’t it be wonderful to spend a quiet weekend with no distractions or stress? Saint Andrew Catholic Church will host a Women’s Emmaus Retreat on Friday, September 5, through Sunday, September 7.
Be good to yourself. You deserve it! Take a break from your daily routine and renew your faith. Get away for a weekend, walk with the Lord, be still and allow Him to reveal Himself to you.

HONORING A SPECIAL PERSON OR DATE
One of the greatest gifts we can give is that of the Mass: for the living or dead, in thanksgiving, in celebration of an anniversary or other special occasion, or for the special intentions of a special person. While it may not seem like a great material gift, the spiritual weight of a Mass is immeasurable. To have a Mass said for your special intentions, call the Parish Office at 954-943-9154.

FOOD MINISTRIES
Our Friday Sandwich Ministry is ongoing. Please drop homemade sandwiches (no condiments), hard-boiled eggs, packages of peanut butter crackers, bottled water, and other simple food items at the Parish Office between 8am and 10am on Friday mornings only. They are picked up and delivered by volunteers to Our Father’s House, which distributes them to the hungry in Pompano Beach.
The Food Ministry for the Poor, in concert with San Isidro Catholic Church in Pompano, always welcomes donations for its food pantry. Bins are located at the church doors. Thank you for your continued generosity in helping to feed our hungry neighbors.

The Miami Marlins will host Catholic Night on Friday, September 12, when they play the Detroit Tigers. A portion of the ticket sales goes toward local Catholic charities and education. A chartered bus will leave Saint Paul the Apostle parish at 5:15pm; this and the game ticket are included in the $50 per person cost.
There are still tickets available, but I need to get the final count in soon. Please contact me at [email protected].

CONSTANT VOLUNTEER

Ever wonder where all that delicious food comes from after the Sunday Masses and at parish events? It’s all led by Donna Schlager, a longtime parish volunteer. While cooking food is her hobby and passion, Donna also volunteers her time in many other parish ministries. Donna is an active member of our St Vincent de Paul Conference, helping provide emergency assistance to needy locals. She is president of our Council of Catholic Women, which helps supports a lot of charitable causes. Thank you, Donna, for your many years of contributing time, talent and treasure to our parish.
