Exciting news from our sister church in San Nicolás de Bari, Cuba!
The solar panels are in! After months of severe electrical shortages — at times receiving just one hour of electricity per day — the congregation of San Nicolás de Bari has reached a major milestone: the new solar panels are now fully installed.

Once fully up and running, these panels will power the church's refrigerator, washing machine, and sewing machines. These are essential tools for their outreach ministry serving elderly and homebound neighbors with meals and clothing.

Please continue to keep Pastor Maricela, the congregation, and all who worked on this project in your prayers as they move toward full operation. And thank you to everyone whose support and prayers helped make this possible!

Join us for Pentecost worship in the chapel at 10 AM.

Rev. Amy Heinrich will be preaching, and the Chapel Music Team will lead worship with a joyful jazzy spirit! The service will also be livestreamed on our YouTube channel, and a digital bulletin is available on our website for those worshiping online

You’re invited to wear red as we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit. Red symbolizes the “tongues of fire” described in Acts 2 and reminds us of the Spirit’s power, presence, and renewing work in our lives. Together, we celebrate the birth of the Church and the good news of God’s love shared with the world.

We are delighted to share that longtime member Rich Monahan has been inducted into the 2026 Libertyville Senior Hall of Fame!

For many years, Rich has been a steady and caring presence in both our church family and the wider Libertyville community. He has faithfully served as a Deacon and Elder, offered thoughtful leadership within the church, and continues to enrich our worship through his participation in the Chancel Choir.

But beyond his many leadership roles, Rich is perhaps best known for the warmth, kindness, and joy he brings wherever he goes. Whether casting a line at a local lake, greeting longtime friends, or striking up a conversation with someone new, Rich has a remarkable gift for helping people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for.

Our congregation has been deeply blessed by his faithful presence and servant heart.

Congratulations, Rich! This recognition is so richly deserved, and we are grateful beyond words for the many ways you have shared your time, faith, friendship, and heart with our community.

Join us on May 17 at 10:00 AM in the sanctuary as the First Pres Chancel Choir presents "Messe Solennelle in C-sharp minor" by Louis Vierne.

Composed in 1899, this “Solemn Mass” is a dramatic and deeply prayerful setting of the Latin Mass for choir and organ. For this special worship service, our sanctuary organ will be joined by the continuo organ, creating a rich and immersive sound throughout the sanctuary.

Come experience the beauty, power, and reverence of this remarkable work as part of worship. All are welcome!

Women's Spring Retreat
Saturday, May 2 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Waukegan History Museum at the Carnegie

Join us for our Women’s Spring Retreat "Temporary: Loosening Our Grip; Opening Our Hearts." This retreat, led by Rev. Amy M. Heinrich, invites us to reflect on a sacred truth. Much of life is temporary. Seasons, roles, relationships, and even beloved traditions change over time.

In Christian faith, holy detachment does not mean indifference or forgetting. It means holding all things with open hands, grateful for them but not grasping.
Together, we will give thanks for what has been, gently release it, and trust that God is already preparing what comes next.

As part of our time together, we will create a shared work of ephemeral art. You are invited to bring a small item from nature such as a leaf, branch, stone, or flower. This simple practice reflects the beauty of each season and the invitation to hold all things lightly.

A catered lunch is included in the $20 registration fee. Click here to sign up:.https://onrealm.org/FirstPresbyteri4662/PublicRegistrations/Event?linkString=OThlYmI5YjgtYjU2Ny00ODJkLWEwOTktYjQyMTAxMjJiNzYw
