Despite the pandemic, NSMC found safe ways to assemble 150 school kits for Mennonite Central Committee - MCC. Thank you to everyone who worked to make this happen!

The supplies that MCC sends around the world offer comfort to families facing disaster or crisis. They’re also a tangible way you can share God’s love and compassion, reminding people that their needs are not forgotten.

MCC plans shipments carefully in order to meet local needs and to send high-quality items that can withstand the harsh conditions faced by people receiving the supplies.

Notebooks and pencils are treasures for families who struggle to afford basic school supplies. School kits often are requested after disasters and help bring normalcy to children whose families have been forced to flee their homes.

School kits distributed by Mennonite Central Committee - MCC are often requested after disasters and help bring normalcy to children whose families have been forced to flee their homes. Notebooks and pencils are treasures for families who struggle to afford basic school supplies.

This Sunday, July 29, 2018, NSMC will be assembling school kits for Mennonite Central Committee as worshipful work during our regularly scheduled worship service at 10:00am. All are welcome to join us in this effort at the Libertyville Civic Center.

On October 29, Al and Andi Tauber from Emmaus Ministries in Chicago will bring a one-hour special music presentation "Going Home" as our worship service at 10:30am on the upper level of the Libertyville Civic Center.

Music has always been a part of Al’s life, having had his first paying gig at age two, singing for his grandmother’s carpool. Since 1993, he has written, performed, recorded, produced, and taught music in a variety of contexts, but his soul remains best fed when singing with his wife as half of the duo “andi and i.”

Andi counts many blessings in her life, including her husband, her family and friends, her home church, her coworkers, making music, living in Chicago – too many to name. But among these has been getting to know many of the men of Emmaus: men who have been wounded and neglected and dismissed for much of their lives, who nevertheless freely offer themselves and their stories, revealing how resilient, fun, gifted, complex, generous, and compassionate they can be. God is working in their lives, and in Andi’s life, and it is a blessing to share that along the road.

Al and Andi are part of Living Water Community Church, a Mennonite congregation in Chicago.

Hope to see you on October 29!
