In her sermon, Rev. Kristin Saylor’s reflection includes looking at the last line in today’s reading from Paul (Romans 12:9-21) : “Do not be overcome with evil but overcome evil with good.” In sharing a story from here experience in a hot and crowded train to the airport, she noted “It was a stunning example of how easily an interaction can be swayed for good and for evil and how much power we have in choosing.”

Just as she invited the congregation to share our thoughts with one another, take time yourself to reflect on when you have experienced this.

After the Eucharist, stay for a Fireside Chat with Kristin, where she’ll share reflections from her sabbatical and welcome conversation about whatever is on your mind. Then, on Thursday, September 3, Family Friendly Office Hours return to Independence Grove from 5:00 to 6:30 PM, weather permitting.
